Hanukkah Blues

I had so much fun decorating our mantle with gelt (chocolate coins), a crystal menorah, dreidels, and latkes banner this year. But let’s get real, it wouldn’t be a holiday in the Kaplan household without Sift Cupcakes. They sure do taste as good as they look, and there is still time to send your loved ones a sweet treat in honor of the Festival of Lights. I recommend the “Ooh Lala” and the “Sky is Falling,” Sift’s version of a red velvet and chocolate cupcake.

Along with the holiday season comes fabulous festive outfits! Already having dabbled with feathers and sequins, for this seasonal look I was inspired by the whole “ugly Christmas sweater” thing. This black and blue fringe skirt was my Hanukkah version, and I styled it with black accents. The studded turtleneck helped create dimension, while the faux fur cropped jacket added drama – something every special occasion ensemble should have. I accessorized lightly with statement earrings, a cocktail ring, and cupcakes.

Those cupcakes almost look to good to eat. Your outfit is very festive and perfect for this time of year. I am really digging how you paired your fur capelet with the fringe skirt. I would never have thought of day. Kudos.
