Five Time-Saving Beauty Tips

30 years old and 30 minutes faster. I’m a night owl, but late nights and early mornings were cramping my beauty routine. Aside from developing those infamous dark circles, when I’m tired I’m dreadfully SLOW. But painting this face each morning is a diligent task, and my goal this year is to be more punctual. I perpetually run 10 minutes late and I’m not proud of it. So in an effort to be on time I’ve managed to shave 30 minutes off of my morning routine. Here are my top five time-saving beauty tips!

Micro-blading

Micro-blading my eyebrows last December was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. In fact, it was life-changing. I cannot describe the satisfaction I feel waking up with perfectly primped eyebrows. Before tattooing my brows (it’s not as scary as it sounds) I would not leave the house without filling them in. It did not matter if I was going to workout, to the beach, or to the hair salon. If I was leaving the house, my brows were fixed. Well, this is not a good obsession to have if you’re a certified slow poke! Eyebrows are sisters, they’re certainly not twins. I will forever be thankful for Maya because her artistry has shortened my getting ready time by at least 15 minutes! Maya is a brow MASTER…but don’t take my word for it. Check out her before and afters on Instagram and see for yourself. Latisse

I was born with naturally long eyelashes. But it’s human nature to want what we cannot have and I’ve always coveted THICKER lashes. Luckily, modern-day Mascara is good for that but it can be time consuming. Latisse is the next best thing since sliced bread! Apply it at night for a longer, thicker, and darker lash line. $h*t works! My mascara application process has gone from 15 minutes to five. That right there is worth the $179 10 week supply. Tip: apply your Latisse with an angled liner brush to extend the life of the bottle. I get about four months of applications with one bottle. Aside from being more economical than lash extensions, there is no maintenance required. Heck yes!

Wash Your Hair Less

Yep, I said it – wash your hair less frequently. Not only will this lifestyle change save time, but it’s better for your scalp – especially if you have dry skin! I used to be an everyday hair washer until I discovered the magic of Oribe hair products. Even when my mane is on the verge of greaseball, the Texturing Spray saves the day. It’s nuts. I also use Living Proof’s dry shampoo, but only on day two of blowout bliss. It makes your hair smell fresh. I understand this advice might gross you out but you have to train your hair to cooperate. As long as you have a bottle of this on hand you have nothing to worry about. Promise!

BeautyBlender

Why on earth was I wasting time dabbling in brushes when this perfect little sponge conceals all of your imperfections in one twirl?! Seriously, the BeautyBlender is a miracle worker. The shape, the texture, and the flexibility work together to seamlessly blend your makeup at a professional level. Not to mention the size is ideal for traveling. It barely takes up room in my makeup bag. The only downside is that it loses its awesomeness by about five perfect if you don’t wash it after a week’s use. I’ve always been lazy about cleaning my makeup brushes. #Guilty. Luckily there are two ways to clean it, and both are easy peasy. What are you waiting for? Click add to basket now.

Shape Tape

When you’re “blessed” with an olive complexion, dark circles come along for the ride. The less I sleep, the darker my circles get. Sometimes they’re barely there, other days I look like I was punched…sort of. I have tried EVERY concealer it seems like.  But the one problem they all have is a lack of longevity. Sure my dark circles are covered when I walk out the door to my photoshoot, but by dinner time, they’re baaaack. Ladies, if you too suffer from this unsightly beauty “issue” get yourself some Shape Tape Contour Concealer. This stuff WORKS and it lasts all day long. But another thing I love about it is its ability to blend. I find many concealers delicate geniuses. Like once you set it you cannot touch it. Shape tape and the BeautyBlender are like the dynamic duo. Click here to purchase this Ulta Beauty exclusive product.

Such great advice! I just turned 27 last week and I’m trying to wash my hair less. Have you heard of dermaplaning? I am thinking of trying it.
