Back in 2009, I wore this dress solo, with my hair long and straight, a nude lip, and a pair of peep-toe booties. Fast-forward to October 2015, and I completely transformed the look with a faux fur stole from Bebe. This simple addition not only fancied up the look, but it brought out the peacock design on the bodice of the dress. I further switched things up by incorporating black Stuart Weitzman over-the-knee boots. Minis and OTK boots is totally a thing this season, so this combo helped me refreshen the ensemble to current clothing standards! I polished off the look with a high ponytail and some glitzy earrings from Jest Jewels.

Think twice before you give that special article of clothing away. Chances are it’ll come back in style and you’ll be able to spruce it up with the latest and greatest in fashionable finds.

After a long day of wine tasting and an early dinner at Tra Vigne in St. Helena, make your way up to Calistoga (known for its spa mineral and mud baths) for a relaxing stay at the Chanric Inn. You will be kindly greeted by the owner and offered some champagne and Lindor chocolates. Make your way into your beautifully decorated room where yet another sweet treat and complimentary bottles of water await.

A short drive or brisk walk to Lincoln Avenue (the most “happenin'” street in Calistoga), here you’ll find a number of restaurants, shops, and bars. Make the effort to stop in for a cocktail at Susie’s Bar, Napa Valley’s oldest. If you’re in the mood for some fine food, Barolo serves delicious Italian dishes – get the burrata appetizer. And if you’re with your dog, there is patio seating. When you make your way back to the inn, notice your room was tidied up. Head upstairs for more bites and bubbly or cuddle up in front of the fire outside on the patio.

The Chanric Inn prides itself for being all-inclusive. Don’t bother making brunch reservations, indulge in a three course breakfast prepared by the owner himself. From espresso to warm croissants, to homemade jam, to fresh fruit, to duck confit, you’ll leave the table licking your lips and feeling pleasantly full.
