Wish List Wednesday: Valentine’s Day Outfit Idea

Valentine’s Day, Galentine’s Day, whatever you want to call it…February 14th is quickly approaching and it is time to start thinking about what you are going to wear. Although it’s quite cliché, I take advantage of the opportunity to wear pink or red. This looks is currently on my wish list and I am hoping it gives you a Valentine’s day outfit idea.

The Dress

Blush is the new black. You can never go wrong in a little blush dress. Over the past year, blush has become an acceptable color for year round wear. I love it because it’s a happy hue and you can find it in virtually any shape or form. The Simple Elegance Off-shoulder Suede Dress by Chicwish is the perfect flirty number to wear on your Valentine’s Day date! Featuring an off the shoulder neckline, this is the only way to give your “bae” the cold shoulder.

The Shoes

Have you ever laid eyes on a cuter shoe?! The Lilly by Steve Madden is a hybrid between a feminine ballet slipper and a traditional black pump. Whether you’re in the office, or on the street, take my word for it, all eyes will be on the shoes. I love ’em with the little blush dress because they add just enough edge to an otherwise girly ensemble. For added flair, pair your Lilly pumps with black stockings.

The Accessories

Never leave the house without properly accessorizing. Anyone and everyone can slip into a dress and walk out the door. What will set you apart, however, is how you piece together an ensemble from top to bottom. The crispin drops from Baublebar in black will make a statement and tie together the entire look. When dressing in dark and light hues, it is important to maintain a balance. The black earrings on the upper half and black shoes on the lower half will accomplish this.

Blush, Blush, and a Blush Dress

I’ve had a thing for cat eye glasses ever since purchasing my first pair from Tom Ford three years ago. They are SO retro and a great way to make a statement when you are wearing an ordinary outfit. As my affection for blush continues to grow, I decided there would be no better way to rock my blush stunner shades than with a blush dress and matching shoes. Here’s to another monochromatic look!

I don’t always agree with the phrase, “less is more,” but when you are working with a monochromatic color scheme, I could not agree more! Just like a black on black look, sticking with one hue can save time and take away the stress of piecing together an outfit. Not to mention there is something so elegant about this style and monochrome pastel ensembles happen to be my favorite.

I styled this little blush dress with pearls and espadrille wedge sandals (last seen here). When you do not want to introduce another color into your outfit, pearls are always a safe choice. In this instance, they fit in perfectly with the ultra feminine theme going on. If you’re in the market for a versatile wedges, consider this pair. Blush is a neutral and a great alternative to black, brown, or cognac.

Blush Shift Dress

I have another item for you to add to your wardrobe and today it comes in the form of a blush shift dress! With Valentine’s Day less than a week away, I’ve got red and pink on my mind. Having already styled a steamy look here and one in between here, I kept things day date appropriate for the third and final Valentine’s Day look.

Pantone chose it, and the designers ran with it! “Rose quartz” aka pastel pink is EVERYWHERE, and there is no better way to spend the day “blushing” with your sweetie than in this shift from lulus. Similar to last weeks look, the scarf’s colorful pattern added just enough oomph to keep the ensemble interesting. I accessorized with classic pearls, and my favorite Seychelles shoes.
