It is that time of year again! The 2017 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale has officially begun and there is no better time to stock up on fall essentials. Try Something New

Sale shopping gives you the perfect opportunity to try something new! Maybe there is a trend you have been eyeing but you’re afraid to take the plunge. Leather leggings, leopard print shoes, or fringe hem jeans to name a few. If you’re going to take a “risk” you might as well get a good deal out of it.

Basics are Always a Good Idea

You can never own enough basics and luckily the Nordstrom sale has you covered. From socks, undergarments, t-shirts, and jeans, you name it, they got it. I know what you’re thinking, it’s not fun to buy those things! I agree but if you buy ’em now you’ll have more money to allocate to the fun things later! Catch my drift?!

All Gray Outfit

In my world, gray goes unnoticed. As a lover of all things color I often gravitate towards bright hues and blacks when I’m toning things down. Apparently I’ve been missing out because not only is the color gray simply chic, but it is also a great neutral. Here is how to wear an all gray outfit without looking washed out.

Monochromatic looks are very easy to style. Simply pick a color and accessorize in the same or slightly different tone of the chosen hue. When dressing in a bright color, it’s safe to stick with the same tone (as seen here). With gray, however, it is wise to switch between light and dark. I accomplished this with a stone top, a slate bottom, and dual-tone shoes. I just so happened to have a gray manicure (and need a fresh one tomorrow), but nail polish and lip color is a nice way to offset the uniform color scheme.

Now let’s talk outfit details… the Velvet Bud Skirt is full of personality. The fabric is luxurious, and the tassel trim is extraordinary! Speaking of “basics with a twist,” this ribbed sweater qualifies as one. Score! I found the Mary Jane shoes for about $30 on Amazon and I really like how they pulled together the contrasting gray tones. Earlier I mentioned accenting your look with your makeup. If you dare to be bare, a fashionable cellphone case can have the same effect. I found this rustic floral one at Incipio – they always have the best iPhone covers. P.S. Wish List Wednesday: Blushing Over Blush

There once was a time where I was the true meaning of a pink lady. Just about everything I owned was pink! My love for the color went as far as having a custom license plate made for my car reading, “Pink 1” I kid you not! I was that girl. After the pink party ended several years ago, I swore I’d never wear the color again. Fast forward to 2016 and here I am again blushing over the color blush! This ensemble is currently on my wish list…although by the end of this post, it might be in my shopping cart.

Although my taste in color has certainly diversified since way back when, there is something so loving and sweet about the pale pink hue. When I came across these satin trousers, my creative mind began to roll. How fabulous would these be for a holiday party or date night soiree?! The high waisted silhouette makes them crop top friendly and the wide legs scream drama!

My first instinct was to dress them with a matching blush top. Monochromatic looks are one of my favorite to style as seen here and here. For a less formal occasion, I would rock them with a cable-knit sweater. For a formal occasion, however, I would stick with a classic cami. I love a garment that gives me options.

Finally, because an outfit is incomplete without accessories, I would bling out with this incredible beaded cap. Never have I ever laid eyes on a more glamorous headpiece. To polish off the look I would wear these pink drop earrings (a knock off of the ever popular Rebecca de Ravenel Bon Bon earrings), and complete the ensemble with perfect velvet sandals.
