Now that I got you all excited about potentially wearing jeans on Valentine’s Day, allow me to throw out some denim-friendly date night ideas. Go to a cooking class with your beau – it does not have to be fancy! The Sur La Table near you hosts cooking classes weekly. If cooking the night away sounds torturous, experience dinner and a movie in a whole new way. Find a theatre that serves up generous entrees and delicious cocktails! The Alamo Draft House has all of the above if you reside in San Francisco. Or, for the daring couple, go for a scooter ride! This top is everything. It reminds me of a Lady Gaga shirt minus the sequins. It makes a statement on its own so jeans are a natural choice. Less is never more IMO so I incorporated all pink accents (shocking!). I am very happy with my earring and shoe choice. They are both on sale and add just enough glitz and sparkle to the ensemble. Not Just Any Night

Jonathan and I joke that it is date year at the Kaplan household. We are always together. But what makes DATE NIGHT different from any other night is that we sit inside and experience the ambiance and decor (sorry GG!). It sounds ridiculous but we dine on so many dog-friendly patios we hardly ever enter the establishment. Putting fourth the extra effort and dressing up for date night makes it stand out from an ordinary evening.

This trend in bottoms is comin’ in HOT. I love it because styling crop tops has never been easier. Thank you to the person who brought high waisted pants back in style. Anyway, this versatility makes it easy to dress paperbag jeans for daytime or evening wear. Last night I wore ’em with a rainbow sweater for a casual meeting. Add some sequins to the mix and just like that I am ready for date night, or maybe jut some cacio e pepe! Tune in to IG to see where I am headed in this exact outfit.

About the Fit

Cropped jeans > full length jeans. Of course they hit me right at the ankle, but I am ok with that! It will save me a trip to the tailor. Being 100% cotton, I suggest sizing up if you have a curvy figure. I ordered a 0 and a 2 and sent back the size 0. With that being said, they are surprisingly comfortable. I typically stay away from bottoms without stretch because #bootyproblems, but the fit is relaxed enough that the lack of stretch is not an issue. If you are looking for a flattering alternative to your high waist skinny jeans, this is it. Happy shopping!
