Cutoff Shorts and a Tee

Cutoff shorts are a springtime staple. Similar to distressed jean pants, the unfinished hem creates a bit of flair. Although the options are endless, I styled mine with a not so basic tee from lulu*s.

I am not good about buying tops. I don’t know about you, but for me, it is easier to justify a skirt or dress splurge than a plain top purchase. The only problem with this mentality is that when I just want to “throw on” a shirt and jeans, it’s slim pickings in my closet. So, starting today, I am putting an end to this nonsense and stocking up on shirts! The Hang Time Tee is a great option for fashionistas like me who have a thing against basic t-shirts. It functions like a standard scoop neck, yet the slim fit is figure flattering and the knot detail will add just enough oomph to your casual chic ensemble. I paired the brown version with my cutoff shorts, but it is also available in gray, black, and ivory.

Accessories, accessories, accessories! No matter what look you are going for, consider it a sin to leave the house without accessories. I took this look to the next level with the help of some boho jewelry (last seen here) and a hat visor. How is this the first time that I am experimenting with one of these?! For all the ladies out there who were ~~blessed~~ with a smaller than average head circumference, meet your new bff. This versatile little thing is not only adjustable, but it also features UPF 50+ sun protection. Did I mention it can be rolled up making it easy to travel with?! Anyway, I polished off the outfit with chunky platform sandals and a blue tassel clutch.

Denim Shorts and Flatform Sandals

Just like jean pants, jean shorts are a wardrobe staple. And as much as I am a fan of distressed denim, I am a fan of cutoff denim shorts. The last time I wore this floral embroidered pair was in Napa Valley for Valentine’s Day. With the change of scenery I mixed things up this time with a white blouse and flatform sandals.

The Frilled Cut-Out Shoulder Shirt from Zara is a fun take on the traditional white button down. Featuring a dramatic ruffle detail, wear it as a sleeveless top or pull it down over your arms as an off-the-shoulder blouse. For a laid back night at the resort, full of Mai Tais, I rocked this top with my floral embroidered jean shorts (last seen here). I accessorized with a white clutch and gold sandals, going for a casual beachy look. Bananas over Bananas

Have you ever heard of the online retailer SheIn (formerly known as SheInside)?! Don’t feel bad if your answer is no…I hadn’t either until a couple of weeks ago when a sponsored post showed up across my Facebook newsfeed. Anyway, SheIn is an online retailer specializing in women’s contemporary clothing. Most items ship directly from China, and as a result, the prices are incredibly low. Maybe I spent $60 on four items total?! It doesn’t get any better than that. As food items continue to dominate the fashion space in many shapes and forms, when I came across the Banana Embroidered Flange Denim Shorts, there was no way I was passing ’em up! Rather than sitting back and watching a new trend blowup, take part in it, fashionista!

On a kick for mixed prints, I thought it would be fun to pair these shorts with something other than a solid tee. That’s where this off-the-shoulder polka dot blouse came into play! Flirty and fun, the perfect addition to an ensemble already full of flavor. I wore the top tucked in to show off the cut of the shorts and threw on some yellow kicks and a matching necklace. I’m officially bananas over this look! Are YouIn?!
