A modern take on a vintage bowler bag, this pretty little thing will have the compliments rolling in. Featuring a multicolor pattern and rhinestone closure, this will not be the last time I tote this playful item. So many vanity bags are not suitable for everyday use. Many lack interior side pockets or enough space to store an iPhone plus. I’m happy to report this bowling ball bag has it all and a detachable shoulder strap. For only $48, there is no better way to add some fun to your fall outfit. It is hard not to smile while carrying this bag!

Now just because I have the bag, it doesn’t mean I am about to rock the matching shoes. C’mon now, ME in bowler shoes?! I don’t think so! Remember, this is the girl who didn’t even own a pair of flats for more than half her life! Anyway, it was my attempt to bring out all of the fall hues in the purse with a “striking” fall look (ok, maybe I am getting carried away with the play on words!). These wide leg pants and gold top do just that! High-waist pants are always a good idea for short legged folk like me. But if you are not comfortable in platform shoes, you will definitely need to make a trip to the tailor. You win some and you loose some…#shortpeopleproblems.

Black on Black

Black is so versatile whether or not you have a costume party to attend. For the purpose of this post, however, let’s just call it the most Halloween-Friendly color! I say that because this exact top and skirt could be worn for a witch, a cat, a bunny, or even a fox costume.
 

Textured Stockings

Textured stockings will effortlessly add some spice to your ensemble. Plus, they are an easy item to pack in your purse for “after hours.” Whether you choose lace, or fishnet tights, you’ll be ready to go from the cubicle to the costume party with this frilly addition. Tip: Pair over the knee boots with your stockings to maximize drama.

Mask or Headpiece

The easiest way to transform your work attire into a Halloween costume is to bring a mask or headpiece. I could definitely pass for the Wicked Witch of the West with a black pointy hat in this ensemble! Instead I opted for the foxy route incorporating this face mask. If you do not want to draw attention to yourself, stay clear of this dress. It will stop people in their tracks. Not only are the colors happy and bright, but the sweeping fabric sways with every move you make. Speaking of, pleated garments are the best because they are easy to care for. You don’t really have to worry about getting anymore wrinkles! Anyway, the fit and feel of this dress is relaxed and cool. Hence the reason it’s great for the fall. You never know if it’ll be in the low 60’s or high 70’s!

I usually gravitate towards tailored clothing to avoid the potato sack look, but this pleated maxi dress is an exception. For your reference, I am five feet and wearing the size small. I don’t really care that it is a bit “oversized” because that is sort of the point. This pretty little thing was not made to accentuate your curves. It was designed to show off the material. I styled it with white booties because they are my current obsession. Black shoes, however, would be an appropriate substitute. What are you waiting for? Show off your colorful side in this pleated maxi dress!

I have been admiring this trend for the last couple of months but I honestly didn’t think that I could get away with it. Turns out you don’t have to be going to the rodeo to wear such items! If you’re active on Instagram, then you’ve noticed your favorite fashionistas styling these pieces all very differently. As far as a necktie, as long as you are wearing an off the shoulder shirt, it’ll work. The belt on the other hand will look less cowgirl and more chic with a LBD or a little black jumpsuit. You be the judge.

I took the chic route and styled my neck scarf and belt with a black cutout jumpsuit from Asos. This floor length playsuit happens to be the same fit and style as the neon jumpsuit so many of you loved a couple of months back. I am not sure that a more versatile item exists for only $42! I accented the waistline with a big buckle belt and took advantage of the neckline with a black and white necktie. For a pop of color, I painted my lips red and carried a striped handbag. Now are you ready to give a western themed outfit a try?!

When something is hot, Current Clothing is the spot! Of course this chic boutique would carry such a fashionable item. This black and gold one-piece stunner is everything you’ve ever wanted in a romper. Unlike some onezies that take you back to kindergarten, this one is figure flattering and age-appropriate in several ways. First of all, you can barely even tell that the top and bottom are connected. The upper half is no different than your go-to black v-neck blouse, and the perfectly tailored skort synches right at the waist. What a treat when someone else does the thinking for once! To go along with the whole geometric theme, I threw on a pair of fishnet stockings. If you want to take your black ensemble from mediocre to fabulous, incorporating fishnets is an easy way to do it! With black and gold being one of my favorite combos, I simply accessorized with black heels and glitzy statement earrings.

You can never go wrong with a monochromatic look. Just like pairing black and black, you can do the same with virtually every color in the rainbow. Already stocked up on enough brown faux fur, it was only natural to scoop up this gray vest. For today’s outfit of the day (#ootd), I kept things simple with a gray color scheme, and styled this fuzzy vest with a faux suede tunic. Only five feet tall, this top fit me as a mini dress, but it could be worn as a long-line top too. To create contrast, I accessorized with sheer black lace stockings, an ombré clutch, and suede over-the-knee boots – what a difference a little lace makes! I polished off the look with gray and gold jewelry and created a smoky eye with the Lorac Pro Palette.

I’ve been yearning for a sleeveless sweater as I’m a big fan of sleeveless outerwear in general. When I came across this one from Forever 21, I knew it would be a smart purchase. Not only is camel the perfect fall hue, but the mock neck is suitable for the weather here. The side slits add an interesting touch and the length is great for leggings or skinny jeans. I paired this piece with burgundy skinny jeans from Current Clothing (most comfortable pants ever) and added a bit of flair with my leopard print booties. I accessorized lightly with a long fringe statement necklace and a brushed gold bracelet.

This city gal took the country in stride with a bohemian-inspired look! Knowing it would be chilly, I took advantage of the occasion to rock some faux fur. I paired my brown faux fur vest with high-waisted paisley pants from h&m – mixing prints for the second time this week. Although pictured with a long sleeve knit top, on race day, I wore a cropped sweater for added warmth. I polished off the look with black and brown rhinestone earrings, tassel booties, and an obligatory floppy hat.
