How to Dress a Graphic Tee

I wasn’t kidding when I said high waisted black jeans are the best thing since sliced bread. Now that you know how to dress them for a preppy spring look, today we feature an edgy alternative. I’ve never been able to dress a graphic tee to my satisfaction. For whatever reason, it either appears shapeless or too casual. I am happy to report that this edgy ensemble is super easy to recreate and eliminates either fashion faux pas!

Fitted bottoms

When you dress a loose top, always balance out the ensemble with fitted or tailored bottoms. Therefore, consider wearing high waisted skinny denim with your favorite graphic tee. One of the easiest ways to avoid the bag lady look is to tuck in or knot your oversized shirt. You will quickly realize that tucking/tying is much easier when you are wearing a high rise pant.

Jewelry

Jewelry is transformative. With the right baubles you can make a plain outfit pop, or an edgy outfit feminine. You can read more on this “phenomenon” here. Today I incorporate Brynn Hudson Jewelry to transform my moody attire into a ladylike look.

Wear it with Confidence

You know that phrase, “kill em’ with kindness?” Here is my take on it, kill em’ with confidence! No matter what occasion you are dressing for, confidence is the best fashion accessory.

Happy Fry Day!

There are few things in life that I love just as much as fashion. One of which is a crispy and salty delight! If you haven’t already guessed from the title of this post, it’s good ol’ french fries. I could eat them with every meal. When I found this Fry Day graphic tee on shein.com, it had KK and GG all over it!

You’ve already heard my schpiel about food items and how they’re trending in the industry, but seriously, how GREAT is this t-shirt?! The perfect addition to your dress down “Fry Day” ensemble. I love how it can go casual with shorts or fancy with long black jeans. Going for an edgy look, I paired it with distressed denim, yellow patent leather pumps, and a rhinestone necklace. Next time, I may swap out the pants for vegan leather shorts, and polish things off with a cape.

After a week of showcasing apparel from SheIn, the verdict is in: SheIn is officially KK and GG approved!

My Bear Dance Tank

Graphic tees are the “it thing” and they’re being worn all different ways. You probably used to think a t-shirt had to be paired with casual bottoms and flip flops, but the truth is, they’re suitable for way more than that. Tuck one into a skirt, throw one on with embellished jeans, or style one with a cape. You name it – it works. But for the warmer summer months, go for a graphic tank top instead!

Leave it to Current Clothing to introduce me to yet another wonderful brand, Bear Dance. This line of graphic tank tops is truly unique and appealing to many different tastes. When I came across the whale tail top, I was immediately in love. The metallic print dresses it up just a tad, and the fit is amazing. Nothing frumpy about this pretty little thing! Since dressy is always better in my book, I paired this tank with black distressed jeans and black strappy sandals (although in between shooting I rocked a pair of leather flip flops). I accessorized this outfit with dramatic off-white tassel earrings, my go-to off-white clutch and a black cape. It is amazing to me how the addition of a cape can transform a look from good to great in a matter of seconds. If you do not yet own one, get on that! Aside from being a fab layering piece, you can wear them all-year-round. Call me the “cape lady,” but these sleeveless pieces are the perfect finishing touch to virtually any ensemble.
