You already know I am a lover of color. When I found this green maxi skirt at Make Me Chic, I reserved a special place for it in my closet. Flowing maxi skirts are so regal and let’s get real, who doesn’t enjoy looking and feeling princess-y. Truthfully, any neutral would compliment this striking emerald hue, but there is something so lovely about green and pink combinations – like a fresh bouquet of flowers. That is why I polished off the look with ultra feminine accents such as this blush lace bodysuit. Are you ready to get your crown on?!

Lace can be classy when styled tastefully – don’t let it scare you away. One of the easiest ways to tone lace down is by pairing it with matching separates, as demonstrated in today’s outfit. Do you agree that this look would be considered way racy if paired with a bright red skirt?! Stick with a monochromatic scheme to avoid the steam. This goes for your undergarments as well.

Unless you are toping your lace bodysuit with a jacket or blazer, choose a loose fitting garment for your lower half. This could come in the form of a maxi skirt, palazzo pants, or any a-line silhouette. I matched a navy blue skater skirt with mine. This ladylike shape helped balance out the sheer upper half.

Feminine details can instantly soften up an “edgy” look. In this instance, I accessorized with navy flower earrings and a bedazzled box clutch to accomplish this goal. Polishing off the look with bright pink pumps and a matching lip, not only did this hue add girly touches, but it appropriately “broke up” all of the blue. A sharp black on black ensemble seemed very fitting for this quirky film, so I paired a lace bodysuit with distressed jeans. Keeping the edgy vibe going, I accessorized with a floppy hat, peep-toe booties, and an ombre box clutch. This outfit would have been far less interesting without the finishing touch, the cape! The black and olive combination created just enough contrast and as a result, the lace sleeves really popped.

The Gianni Bini Lizzy Feather Jacket from Dillard’s, is officially my favorite piece of the year. Perfectly tailored, and ultra feminine, you’ll feel like a celebrity when you rock this fluffy thing. Wear it open, or fasten it closed, and style it with all black for the chicest look. I paired this jacket with a high neck lace bodysuit, steaming things up a bit. For bottoms, tuxedo pants seemed to fit the occasion, plus the slim legs didn’t interfere with the feather hem. You don’t want too much bulk under there!

 
I accessorized with pearl earrings and glitter pumps to incorporate some lighter hues back into the mix. These pumps are not your average heels, instead they are a killer knockoff of the ever popular Valentino Rockstud Pump. Available at DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse, for a fraction of the cost ($69), if you’re attending holiday parties this year, consider them a necessity. While there is nothing better than pink and gold sparkles in my book, if the rose gold is too flashy for you, the black and pewter pair is a great alternative.

Culottes overalls, my friends…head on over to Forever21.com and order a pair and do it fast! This adult “playsuit” is available in mustard – a great fall hue, features pockets (score!), and a wide leg design. I choose to pair mine with a lace bodysuit because I didn’t want the look to come off as juvenile. Plus, dressy is always better in the KK and GG book. If lace doesn’t suit your fancy, swap it out for a solid black fitted top. I accessorized lightly with a fringe necklace and gold hinge bracelet, and used the opportunity to mix prints incorporating a leopard print clutch. I completed the look with black peep-toe booties.
