This yellow skirt is everything! The high-waisted fit helps balance out the bodycon silhouette, while the thick material sucks you in – keeping you from feeling overexposed. Never mind the hemline and awesome price point ($59)…while it doesn’t take much to complete a look with such a fabulous starting point, I styled this skirt with a black top this time around. Hardly your average black top, this pretty is what I would call a crop and crochet hybrid shirt! The top half looks like a black cutout crop top while the bottom half features an intricate crochet design. If the black is too racy for you, you’ll be happy to hear it is also available in white ($54). I accessorized lightly with this outfit because I did not want to take away from the garments themselves. I simply threw on a black cocktail ring, grabbed my black and white plaid clutch and my favorite Chinese Laundry dress sandals, and caked on some red lipstick.

I firmly believe the best way too apply lipstick is by first moisturizing your lips with some balm. You cannot go wrong with some of Smith’s Rosebud chap-stick.

Bite Beauty’s cream lipstick in “Rosewood” is perfect when you’re not in the mood for bright hues but don’t dare to go bare! Just as the name suggests, it’s pinky brown.

Sephora’s cream lip stain in “Always Red” is a big hit in my eyes. For $13 a pop, when they say stain, they mean it. Lather up with this product before your evening and wake up with colorful lips

Hourglass’s lip lacquers are some of the brightest around. You will be noticed when you walk into a room sporting orangey red “Raven.” Refillable cartridges make this product a good investment.

“Candy Yum-Yum” matte lip color by Mac is the perfect mix of girly and flirty. Wear this bright pink to add some flavor to an all black ensemble or a fun party dress.

Finally, Mary Kay’s Creme Lipstick in “Downtown Brown” is rich and truly creamy in texture. Great at moisturizing your lips, smear some on for an edgy steamy look.
