The Cut

Choose a bodysuit wisely. Carefully consider your assets and buy one that will flatter your unique body type. Maybe you have toned arms. Show them off with a sleeveless or halter neckline. Maybe you are proud of your back. Look for a backless or sheer back bodysuit. The more confident you are on the inside, the more fabulous you’ll look on the outside.

The Color

If you’re still warming up to the bodysuit trend, consider a black or monochrome ensemble. Less is definitely more when you’re wearing a potentially racy garment. In the featured look I dressed in burgundy top to bottom. The solid jewel tones created a polished and elegant feel. Don’t fixate on the colors matching perfectly. As long as they are in the same family, they’ll work together.

The Bottom

When you have a lot going on on the upper half of your body, it’s best to keep thinks simple down below. Choosing a midi length garment is an easy way to remain modest. Consider a midi skirt, or cropped pants. I chose the latter and dressed this burgundy bodysuit with matching culottes (only $12!). If you are under 5′ 2″, I recommend wearing nude heels with anything midi length to elongate the appearance of your legs.

Lace can be classy when styled tastefully – don’t let it scare you away. One of the easiest ways to tone lace down is by pairing it with matching separates, as demonstrated in today’s outfit. Do you agree that this look would be considered way racy if paired with a bright red skirt?! Stick with a monochromatic scheme to avoid the steam. This goes for your undergarments as well.

Unless you are toping your lace bodysuit with a jacket or blazer, choose a loose fitting garment for your lower half. This could come in the form of a maxi skirt, palazzo pants, or any a-line silhouette. I matched a navy blue skater skirt with mine. This ladylike shape helped balance out the sheer upper half.

Feminine details can instantly soften up an “edgy” look. In this instance, I accessorized with navy flower earrings and a bedazzled box clutch to accomplish this goal. Polishing off the look with bright pink pumps and a matching lip, not only did this hue add girly touches, but it appropriately “broke up” all of the blue. Although Rose Quartz is officially the “Color of the Year” according to Pantone, in my book, wine aka burgundy has made a big comeback and I’m diggin’ it. A brownish shade of red that’s flattering on every complexion…what’s not to love?! Whether we’re talking dresses, jeans, or accessories, reward yourself with a dose of wine (the liquid kind counts too!). Today’s daily dose is coming in the form of a bodycon midi. I love this dress because it compliments your curves in a classy way. The long sleeves and longer length balance out the glove-like fit, while the open back and slit elegantly flaunt your backside. The fabric is stretchy and thick – great for keeping your goods in check. Less is more when you’re styling a piece like the Va Va Voom Dress, and that is why I chose a monochromatic color scheme.
