People (I am specifically talking about those who like to dress up) often gripe about the fashion in San Francisco. This quirky town is infamously referred to as, “sweatshirt city.” There are a lot of folks walking around in their lululemon gear and sneakers. But we also live somewhere where the general populous is very health-conscious and active. I am ok with that! But what I appreciate even more is that when it comes to fashion, “anything goes.” Remember, this is also the city where a group of men ride their bikes and jog Bay to Breakers NAKED. I kid you not. A girl in a bright orange sequin dress is nothin’!

Last month when I spoke briefly with Avril Graham, Fashion and Beauty Editor of Harper’z Bazaar, she asked me what I thought about the fashion scene in San Francisco. I told her I liked it because it is easy to stand out! And you do not need a bright orange sequin dress to do it. When everyone else is dressed casually and you roll in wearing high heels and statement earrings, you will be noticed. I do not feel the same pressure to look a certain way as I do in NY or LA – thank goodness! When I first tried on this dress for Jonathan, he said I would need to save it for a gala or something. SURPRISE! At least he won’t loose sight of his dinner date.

After brunch last week with blogger gals Jenna and Stefanie, we jumped at the opportnity to see the merchandise in person at “The Stylist SF.” Located at 1980 Union Street, this popup shop is packed with festive attire perfect for your New Year’s Eve celebration. My featured dress is a beautiful geo sequin number by the popular designer, Adelyn Rae. It dazzles in all of the right places and the long sleeves make it comfortable for December wear. I paired it with nude pumps although black would work also. My friend Jenna stunned in a beaded shift and OTK boots. We are officially party ready! Order your NYE outfit by 3 pm PST Wednesday and ring in the new year in style!
