Levi’s Stadium (the San Francisco 49ers stadium) is home to Superbowl 50. Over the next week, football themed events and concerts are taking place throughout the city. Guess who is going to the Metallica concert Saturday night?! This girl! While I do not leisurely head-bang to heavy metal music, my hubby often listens to Metallica in the OR – to each his own. Head-banger or not, it happens to be the perfect occasion to rock my Super Bowl outfit. The ladies at Jest Jewels hooked me up with this festive black and gold tee (there’s still time to get yours – choose rush shipping if you’re outside of SF). Sports memorabilia can be ladylike when paired with the right accent pieces, that is why I styled this tee with sequined shorts, and a peplum leather jacket. There is nothing more feminine than sparkles and a fit and flare silhouette! I accessorized with a bejeweled football-shaped cocktail ring, and a floppy hat – both available at Jest Jewels. Polishing off the look with a pink lip, ready or not, here I come!

As a natural sequin lover, when I came across these black hot pants, they were coming home with me. Although technically capri length, they fit me like cropped ankle length trousers…score! Featuring an exposed back zipper, pair these dazzlers with a crop top, or tuck in a traditional button down blouse. On this special occasion, I styled these pants with a white peplum button down shirt. Keep in mind, when you’re working with a statement piece, sometimes simplicity is key.

I accessorized this look with goodies straight out of this month’s Rocksbox (see promo below). The rhinestone necklace helped balance out my upper half, while the light pink Kendra Scott earrings added a sweet feminine touch. Incorporating blush back into the mix, I polished off the ensemble with my favorite metallic clutch by Urban Expressions.

When planning a special occasion outfit, I always recommend starting with one essential piece, and then designing the outfit around that one piece. That one piece could be a dramatic pair of earrings, a statement necklace, a blinged out top or jacket, or a pair of fancy bottoms. Well, since fashion is cyclical and sequins have been “in” for the last decade, I am starting out my New Year’s Eve wishlist with a pair of rose gold Dena Snake-Sequined Leggings (pictured to the left)! These “hot pants” will definitely get heads turning.

Now on to the top. I chose the Nalia Short-Sleeve Blocked Top (pictured to the right) in “Bare Pink.” Since the leggings are the essential element to this outfit, I chose a plain top to balance out all that is going on below the waistline. Not only does this top tone down the sequins just a tad, but it’s an ideal top to wear with leggings. Its boxy silhouette compliments the skin-tight leggings, while the high-low hemline provides just enough back coverage. Whether or not you decide to add another layer, throw on your go to pair of nude pumps and Voila! You’re ready to ring in the new year in style.

I decided to complete this look with BCBGMaxazria’s Upas Cape (pictured to the left) because winter white is one of my favorite hues. Not only does it match everything, but just when you’re tired of your grays, blacks, and browns, incorporating winter white to your cold-weather ensemble will undoubtedly jazz up your look.
