When you live in a moderate climate, it is all about finding the seasonal balance. That is where the cold shoulder design comes into play! This plush sweater is the best of both worlds – cozy and cool. Where has this style been my whole life?! If you are hot natured like me, you just hit the sweater jackpot.

I dressed this sweater with light blue denim and camel accents. Ivory and tan is one of my go-to autumn color palettes. It is simple yet mod. These lace-up booties were only $35 and they’ve exceeded my expectations. The two inch block heel provides all day comfort. Because being underdressed is every fashionista’s worst nightmare, I polished off the look with a beaded clutch purse (last seen here) and layered necklaces.

When I do purchase a top however, I always make sure it has funk factor. Maybe it has an off the shoulder neckline, or a peplum shape, catch my drift?! In this case, the pictured shirt is oversized and features a back slit detail.

Complimentary Jeans

When styling a boxy top, you really only have two options: skinny denim or skinny distressed denim. It is always a good idea to balance out an ensemble with an oversized upper half with fitted bottoms. There is something so aesthetically pleasing about neutrals on neutrals. That is why I paired this tan top with crisp white denim.

Layering Jewelry

Take your chic casual look to the next level with your favorite jewels. In this instance, less is NOT more. I layered with simple gold to compliment the neutral hues and wooden embellished Chanel purse. It’s amazing how the addition of a long necklace actually draws attention to the choker – that was not a typo, chokers are the “new” but old thing.

Leave it to Current Clothing to introduce me to yet another wonderful brand, Bear Dance. This line of graphic tank tops is truly unique and appealing to many different tastes. When I came across the whale tail top, I was immediately in love. The metallic print dresses it up just a tad, and the fit is amazing. Nothing frumpy about this pretty little thing! Since dressy is always better in my book, I paired this tank with black distressed jeans and black strappy sandals (although in between shooting I rocked a pair of leather flip flops). I accessorized this outfit with dramatic off-white tassel earrings, my go-to off-white clutch and a black cape. It is amazing to me how the addition of a cape can transform a look from good to great in a matter of seconds. If you do not yet own one, get on that! Aside from being a fab layering piece, you can wear them all-year-round. Call me the “cape lady,” but these sleeveless pieces are the perfect finishing touch to virtually any ensemble.

Just like a marvelous scarf, the addition of a hat is another great way to transform a bland outfit into a fashion masterpiece in a matter of seconds! When I came across this fuchsia floppy hat at American Apparel, I got really excited. Not only was the color perfect, but it was a good fit and it did not break the bank. Don’t be surprised if this pretty little thing makes an appearance more than once on KK and GG!

While venturing out near Rio Vista, CA (aka the wind turbine capital!) for a summer soirée with relatives, it seemed like a rather fitting occasion to break out my fabulous find! The rest of my outfit consisted of what I like to call my “uniform.” Just like anything else in life, when you find something that works, take it and run with it. For me, that is a pair of jeans, a blouse, a statement necklace, and a blazer. In the ensemble below I styled a pair of mauve distressed skinny jeans. These chic pants can easily take the place of your traditional blue jeans – consider them a neutral. I paired a navy blouse with them and topped it off with my go-to cropped white jacket. To incorporate fuchsia back into the mix, I hung an iridescent rhinestone necklace around my neck, and threw on my favorite hot kicks.

Although it is a common misconception that it’s always cloudy in the Bay Area, I strongly disagree…90 % of the time it is 65 degrees and gorgeous. With that being said, anything under 65 we’re all bundled up in down jackets and anything over 65 we’re all complaining about the “heat!” So when a San Fran brat travels to Las Vegas, it’s only natural to think: stay cool!

Not every outfit for the strip has to be a racy one. If you’re going to bother packing jeans, do yourself a favor and make it a cropped pair. Style them with an airy top. In the ensemble below, I started out with a light weight beige shirt and a pair of denim shorts. As you can see in the photos below, the shirt features a surplice back, and it really did help keep me comfortable temperature-wise. During the evening hours, I swapped out the shorts for some distressed stonewashed cropped jeans. For shoes, I went with my fringe sandals and adorned myself my favorite “Ambi” gray-tone jewels and metallic clutch that you already saw in my last Lilly Pulitzer for Target post. If it’s not broken don’t fix it…same goes for your favorite accessories!

]]> If you need some last minute Thanksgiving outfit inspiration, I am here to help! I associate Thanksgiving with true fall colors, so I always like to incorporate the typical autumn palate into my Thanksgiving attire. For this year, I paired a burnt orange tunic top with some skinny cargos.

 

I was drawn to the Studio Top from Zara, because I could dress it down with some skinny jeans or dress it up with some wax coated black jeans. Because this year’s dinner will be rather casual, I paired it with the most comfortable  pants I own.
