Begin by teasing the front section of your hair. Once you’ve created enough volume, fasten your hair into a half up half down ponytail. Next, form a topsy tail out of the small ponytail you just made, then continue topsy tailing 3/4 of the way down the pony.
 

After that, gently pull apart each topsy tail to create an “undone” appearance. Once the topsy tails are in order, comb back two small sections of hair along both sides of your face and criss cross them underneath the ponytail. Fasten the pieces with bobby pins and finish lightly with hairspray.

Consider it a sin to show up to the salon wearing anything other than a button down shirt! There is nothing more tragic than messing up your new do before arriving to your event. Avoid the drama and wear this boyfriend shirt to your next appointment and your half up faux hawk will thank you later!

This dress is a favorite for many reasons. A halter neck gets me every time and the keyhole detail is ultra feminine. The best feature, however, is the hip-hugging faux leather midi skirt. The longer length balances out the slim fit silhouette, and the gold zipper detail creates just enough oomph. If it wasn’t for the high slit, this dress would not be flattering on a petite frame. Midi skirts tend to “cut off” our legs at an undesirable spot, making them appear shorter than they actually are. The steamy slit helps us avoid this fashion faux pas! I styled this dress with gold accents – a box clutch, vintage Miriam Haskell earrings, and nude pumps.

Speaking of summer sales, this black and blue mini dress from Urban Outfitters is marked down to $39.99 online, and ten dollars less in stores. Featuring a “mock-neck” and keyhole back, this little thing has a lot of personality. For last night’s San Francisco Fashion Week event, I rocked it with my brand new Stuart Weitzman over the knee boots. I polished off the look with black statement earrings, a high pony (thanks to be ladies at The Red Chair Salon) and a bright pink lip. If this doesn’t scream 1970’s I don’t know what does!

These boots are made for walkin’…after trying on countless knock-offs, only to be disappointed by the fit, I can say with confidence that these boots are worth every penny. Just like a new computer, camera, or any other high ticket item, designer fashions are an investment. After wearing these stunners for five hours straight, straight off of the shelf, my feet were 100 percent pain-free. If you’ve been contemplating a pair of SW boots, do yourself a favor and buy them. You won’t regret it and they fit like a glove. A reliable look for less is the Steve Madden Gorgeous OTK boot – they run large – size down one full size.

The Ecote Sadie Strappy Romper really is as fun as it sounds. Great for a casual Saturday afternoon, especially when the temperature is up. I romped around the city in this flirty little thing before watching the LSU football game (love purple live gold)! Featuring a decorative strappy neckline that tapers into flowy shorts, people will think you’re wearing a dress when you’re standing still. I styled this romper with a lace halter bralette – there is no better way to add a touch of flair than with peek-a-boo lace. I rocked a pair of taupe fringe booties and brought a white cape along just in case the fog settled in. Who says you can’t wear white after Labor Day?! I polished off the ensemble with navy flower earrings, a wine clutch, and a crown braid – the perfect hairstyle for a windy SF day.

Drama comes in many forms. Maybe it is the bright red lipstick you’re rocking, or the Swarovski crystals around your neck. No matter what you call it, the more drama the better, especially when you’re dealing with black on black! This fab tube top is from Current Clothing (surprise, surprise), and I knew it was going to take a special pair of pants to do it justice. Can you imagine my excitement when I found these faux leather culottes from Zara?! Although the over-sized bow is loud enough, I was able to create more drama by mixing medias i.e., a faux leather textile. Thanks to The Red Chair Salon, I was able to take my bow-tiful ensemble one step further. Who knew a bow bun would only take a few squirts of hairspray, a couple of hair ties, and a handful of bobby pins?!

What can I say, I like big bows and I cannot lie…
