This week as I played around with the latest inventory at Liv Fashion Boutique, a pair of wide leg pants caught my eye.   If you’ve signed yourself up to stand around all day in the sun, then you might as well be comfortable and cool while you’re doing it! Invest in a pair of light weight wide-leg pants. There is nothing worse than a pair of shorts that ride up every step you take. A well-fitting pair of pants will stay in place, and if they are palazzos, they won’t stick to you either. In the ensemble below, I styled these pants with a black racerback tank and an open front chiffon cardigan. I always like to have a little something over my shoulders in case it is breezy. I accessorized with a mini cognac purse (who wants to schlep around with a large bag when you can squeeze your essentials into a smaller one) and a matching orange and navy pendant necklace.     The second look is my favorite. Up until now, this burnt orange fringe vest hung in my closet, with the tags still attached, for at least two years. I got really excited when I realized it would match these pants. Anyway, rather than throwing on a simple v-neck t-shirt to go with it, I wanted to try something different. At first contemplating over a chambray or white button up, I decided on a sleeveless tuxedo shirt – also several years old. Boy am I glad I held onto these pieces for so long. By incorporating the collared shirt and a straw hat I was able to add a touch of sophistication to this bohemian look.   Festival attire Festival attire Festival attire Festival attire

The whole matchy-matchy thing just became popular – two piece dresses are in. I think Kim Kardashian had something to do with this. She was photographed a number of times, over the last several months, wearing solid high-waisted skirts and matching crop tops. Now you can find matching two piece outfits just about anywhere. Anyway, when it comes to denim, if you are still warming up to the idea, try it first with contrasting washes. Go for a white top and a dark pant or something along the lines of the ensemble photographed below.   When I came across this denim peplum top while perusing Gap’s online store, I had to have it! Does that surprise you?! Peplum this, peplum that…I must admit that I was stumped, at first, when deciding what to pair it with. I am not a big fan of khaki and I do not own the right winter white. When I came across this denim peplum top while perusing Gap’s online store, I had to have it! Does that surprise you?! Peplum this, peplum that…I must admit that I was stumped, at first, when deciding what to pair it with. I am not a big fan of khaki and I do not own the right winter white. Although a skirt would have worked, if you cannot already tell, I am truly a pants and a top kind of girl. So, I styled this “deplum” shirt with my favorite distressed jeans – good thing they were just the right hue. To keep it simple, I accessorized with a statement necklace, comprised of a neutral color scheme, so that my nude pumps and brown purse would tie things together nicely. Finally, for a little pop of color, I wore my orange cat eye sunnies.
