If you’ve been hiding under a rock, and you’re new to this trend, now’s the time to ride the glitter bandwagon!     As a natural sequin lover, when I came across these black hot pants, they were coming home with me. Although technically capri length, they fit me like cropped ankle length trousers…score! Featuring an exposed back zipper, pair these dazzlers with a crop top, or tuck in a traditional button down blouse. On this special occasion, I styled these pants with a white peplum button down shirt. Keep in mind, when you’re working with a statement piece, sometimes simplicity is key.     I accessorized this look with goodies straight out of this month’s Rocksbox (see promo below). ]]> Ready, set, go! From now until December 31st is your time to shine…literally and figuratively. During the holiday season, fashionistas nationwide deck out in sequins, and sparkles. If you’ve been hiding under a rock, and you’re new to this trend, now’s the time to ride the glitter bandwagon!

As a natural sequin lover, when I came across these black hot pants, they were coming home with me. Although technically capri length, they fit me like cropped ankle length trousers…score! Featuring an exposed back zipper, pair these dazzlers with a crop top, or tuck in a traditional button down blouse. On this special occasion, I styled these pants with a white peplum button down shirt. Keep in mind, when you’re working with a statement piece, sometimes simplicity is key.

I accessorized this look with goodies straight out of this month’s Rocksbox (see promo below). The rhinestone necklace helped balance out my upper half, while the light pink Kendra Scott earrings added a sweet feminine touch. Incorporating blush back into the mix, I polished off the ensemble with my favorite metallic clutch by Urban Expressions.

While creating a color block ensemble yourself is easy enough, such styles are also available straight “off the shelf.” The Scoop Neck Color Block Hollow Out Sleeveless Maxi Dress from RoseGal is a great example.     This neon dress is full of flavor and only $12.32 – no that is not a typo! The gray bodice is a perfect backdrop for the contrasting orange and green panels. If you didn’t think it was possible for a dress to glow, this maxi proves you wrong. ]]> “Summertime” in San Francisco is quite different from the typical summer season. Although 10 months out of 12 it is at least 65 degrees and sunny, historically June and July are “cold.” When the rest of the country is in shorts and tanks soaking up the Vitamin C, San Franciscans are often in pants and sweaters. While you probably think I am being dramatic, a windy and foggy 50 degrees feels cooler than you’d think! It is something about the biting air whipping off of the bay. For that reason alone, the outfit below is a good choice for a summer day in San Francisco.

If you cannot already tell, I am mildly obsessed with printed pants – specifically printed trousers. They are so easy to dress up and way more interesting than standard khakis or black slacks. Naturally, when I came across this pair of side zip paisley trousers, I had to have them. Aside from the comfortable stretch material, the neutral color scheme makes for simple matching and all-year-round wear. To balance out the hip-hugging fit, I went with a beige oversized tunic sweater this time around, although I am already envisioning them with an orange tunic during the fall. I accessorized the look with some statement jewelry, and a python metallic clutch – mixing prints/textures is the latest hip trend. I completed the look with a floppy hat and yellow patent leather pumps. Don’t let the yellow scare you! These kicks match with a lot more than you think, and the sunny hue is a great way to add some pop to your ensemble.
