The shaggy jacket is the new blazer. Shocking, I know, but it’s the truth! But if you stop and think about how you normally wear a blazer, it makes a lot of sense. Do you wear one over a dress or a skirt? With ripped jeans, or slacks? Is it just me, or does fringe effortlessly up your style game?! Next time you get ready to go out, consider topping your ensemble with a shaggy jacket instead of a blazer. Prepare for the compliments to roll in.

 
So what makes this look different from the other? It’s all about the black. As much as I love color, I must admit that there is nothing sharper than black on black. An outfit like this can go from holiday party to the dance club. It is best to dress for anything because you never know where the night will take you. Now because I cannot stay way from color for too long, I polished off this look with a pink bootie. Really any statement hue would have the same affect!

There are many ways to wear a jumpsuit. Before you dress, consider the time of day and the occasion. Will you be sitting or standing? I know I am not the only fashionista who owns a “standing dress!” Eating or sipping? I styled this look for an evening cocktail party, as eating a three course meal can be tricky in statement sleeves! What I love about this ensemble is the sweeping drama. Together the ruffled sleeves, mixed textures, and palazzo pants leave a long lasting impression. How do you plan to shine this holiday season?!

This two piece dress speaks for itself. The bold print and full skirt create show stopping DRAMA. For a petite woman, full skirts can have a swallowing effect. But what I realized after wearing this one is that a drop-waist is key. It hugs your frame before tapering out. For your reference, I am wearing a small and I did not have to shorten the skirt before wearing it. Instead, I opted to wear four inch high heel sandals. This stunner is coming with me to New York Fashion Week!

To avoid the clown shoe appearance, always choose a strappy sandal. This is even more important if you’re wearing white shoes with white pants. Showing some skin will break up all of the white and add dimension. Click here to see how I style white tassel hem jeans with this pair of sandals.

If strappy shoes are out of the question, consider styling your white sandals with cropped pants or shorts. Bearing your ankles will also counter the enlarging abilities. As you can see in today’s look, I paired white sandals with ankle length jeans. That is all it takes.

Finally, color is key! Monochromatic looks are beautiful but unless you are bearing a lot of skin, I recommend adding color into the mix. Which look do you prefer? White jeans with a vibrant top, or blue jeans with a multicolored top? I cannot decide but I am certain that you will not find a cuter gingham shirt for $27!

The embroidery detail is simply stunning and the keyhole back adds a touch of elegance. Also available in white, if there is a bride-to-be in your life, be a hero and let her know. No need to credit me!

This romper speaks for itself. When you wear a statement piece, let it shine! Sticking to my own rules, I accessorized with simple black accents. These tassel earrings and wedge sandals perfectly fit the outfit’s vibes. Jumping at the opportunity to debut my chevron purse, I completed the look with this pretty little thing.
