Anyway, if the temperatures allow for it, wedges or flat sandals would accompany this tie dye number perfectly. It can also double as a swimsuit coverup if you have access to the beach or pool. Winter White: Three Looks, Three Personalities

Out with the old, in with the NEW. I am here to reassure you that you are NOT committing a sin wearing white after Labor Day. In fact, it’s quite the opposite! There is nothing more radiant than a crisp winter white ensemble. Below are three sample looks, each with very different personalities. How would you identify yourself…Classic chill, Chic Snow Kitty, Winter Spice, or something in between?!

Classic Chill

The sweater dress is a wardrobe staple, and can be dressed several different ways. This look is what I refer to as, “classic with a twist.” Featuring a traditional turtleneck silhouette, the pearl frills add a modern day flair. Consider pairing this item with metallic accents like a clear and gold purse or even a pair of sequin boots! More is more especially when you’re working with a monochromatic (solid white) color scheme.

Snow Kitty Chic

Who doesn’t love a reliable onesie?! I’ve said it once and I am saying it again, rompers/jumpsuits are AWESOME because they do the thinking for you. You are off the hook coordinating an entire ensemble – simply slip it on and go! Can I get a hallelujah?! This snow leopard print jumpsuit features a plunging neckline and elegant sheen. I never thought I would say this but, I am jealous of y’all who live in a climate where fuzzy earmuffs are a necessity – not a novelty! Planning a trip to winter wonderland STAT.

Winter Spice

Add a little flavor to your winter garb with a playful bodysuit. These garments are perfect for tucking…they stay in place and do not create excess bulk in your chosen bottom! I love a sleek skirt and bodysuit combo and any chance to wear my real life glass slippers! This is my personal favorite out of the featured ensembles. I guess you can say I am spicy all year round, as this is no exception. Ha!

Tweed Houndstooth Suit

Are you an outfit repeater?! I sure am! And out of all the clothes in my closet, and the countless ensembles I showcase on my blog, it is the suits “with a twist” that I constantly re-wear! This little blue suit, this pink power suit, this floral-print suit, are great examples. In the world of Kelsey Kaplan Fashion solid black suits are not going to cut it. I have a knack for finding specialty sets. Allow me to introduce you to my new fave a tweed houndstooth suit!

I hardly EVER publish articles on the weekend. In all honesty, I was afraid this ensemble would sell out faster than I could blog it. So here we are…ready for the LSU Tigers to beat the Florida Gators decked out in purple in front of a gold house. Haha. Just kidding…well sort of. This little number is too good not to share on a Saturday, and will easily carry you from the office to happy hour. Not bad for a $60 set if I say so myself! The bold lavender and blush print is unique, while the chunky gold buttons add the perfect feminine details.

In my true Latina fashion, I styled the blazer as a top. I LOVE it like this but recommend pairing it with this turtleneck if you are a 9-5 gal. We are experiencing very mild temperatures in the Bay Area so I styled this look with sandals. Ankle boots are another great option or OTKs if you are “blessed” with stilts for legs! Now how many times do you think I will re-wear this suit during the fall? I already have one special outing on the books!

Tie Dye Set

It’s officially that time of year…where San Franciscans veg out in Golden Gate park for the Bay Area’s biggest festival: Outside Lands. Call me close-minded, but if porta potties are involved, it is not my jam. If I was ~~not so high maintenance~~ going to attend however, I would wear this tie dye set! Hear me out.

What goes around comes around! I can still remember tying a Hanes under-shirt into a tiny little bundle inside the bathtub of my childhood home in the early 90s. Fast forward to 2019 and Kelsey Takes Tie Dye 2.0 is what I refer to as, “modern day chic!” 31 going on 13. Haha!

You already know my thoughts on biker shorts…they have the ability to be dressed gracefully and elegantly. Today’s outfit is a playful rendition on the hottest new trend. What you see here is a spandex romper and a high low top. I am always quick to cover my backside when I wear biker shorts. #BigBootyProblems. You never know what you are going to get in ~~the~~ ~~summer~~ July, weather-wise in SF. For that reason I topped off the look with a pink denim jacket.

Floral Corset and Bell Bottom Jeans

Akira has done it again! Never have I ever consistently been able to find unique statement pieces, one after another, before discovering this Chicago based retailer! And it is not just me who thinks so. I receive endless compliments from Jonathan, friends, and strangers alike when I rock Akira clothing. Like these pants, or this top, or this ensemble. Now let’s talk about this floral corset!

This floral corset is a fashionista’s dream come true. I will never be a jeans and t-shirt kind of gal. Simply put, I am uncomfortable in what I perceive as an uninspiring outfit. Maybe that makes me unpractical, or a not-so-savvy business woman. Maybe more people would buy the ensembles I promote if they were “traditional.” But this is me and I’ll never pretend to be someone I am not! #SorryNotSorry. Floral corsets > white tees.

Hello 70’s chic! I always reach for high waisted bottoms when styling a crop top. The thought of the low rise pants we all used to wear in the early 2000’s literally make me cringe. The older I get, the more confident I am in high rise pants. Not only do they hold everything in place, but they have the ability to elongate the appearance of your legs….especially if they are a flare leg pant! Petals and pearls just go together so nicely. I completed the looks with a glitzy hair clip and matching purse. What is your favorite online retailer for unique fashion? I would love to hear!

Unicorn Dress

I used to believe that you should only buy clothes when you had an occasion to wear them. But the more hours I spend browsing the internet, for the latest and greatest in fashion, I am finding this to be a false conclusion. Many of the items I wear are under $100. They are “fast fashion” garments. If you hesitate, they will sell out in your size. I don’t really have somewhere to wear this unicorn maxi dress, but I was excited to share it with the world. 2019 is my year; pink, pastels, and sparkles are plentiful.

This pleated maxi exudes elegance. The sky blue top fades into a sweeping color block design. What does one pair with a “unicorn dress” you may ask?! Colorful hair accessories! Headbands, barrettes, and old school scrunchies are back in style – get the lowdown here. Being a lover of jewelry, I am looking for every excuse to add a little glitz and glam to my hair. I hadn’t worn a headband since the 5h grade, but lately that is all I am reaching for! These playful add-ons are an easy way to keep your wardrobe current. Rainbow Pants in Rainbow City

Happy Friday! I’m stoked for the weekend because it is supposed to be beautiful and in the 70s. Temps above 60 are a rarity in the city by the bay. But I am also excited because I found a pair of rainbow pants that perfectly exemplify my personality. Lately I’ve been receiving comments on my Instagram photos that go something like, “color queen,” or “pink goddess” and I am loving it! Color is the way to my heart and I cannot help but smile when I am wearing it.

Your confidence is your best accessory. Wear what makes you grin from ear to ear – what makes you feel good! When I found these pants I HAD to have them. I am not sure what I love more: the colors or the pleats. Muted pastels begin at the waist, getting progressively vibrant down the leg.
