Playing off of the exotic theme, I styled this look with gladiator wedge sandals and turquoise earrings. A bare neckline is the perfect excuse to break out some killer statement earrings. A sharp black on black ensemble seemed very fitting for this quirky film, so I paired a lace bodysuit with distressed jeans. Keeping the edgy vibe going, I accessorized with a floppy hat, peep-toe booties, and an ombre box clutch. This outfit would have been far less interesting without the finishing touch, the cape! The black and olive combination created just enough contrast and as a result, the lace sleeves really popped.

Believe me when I say, horizontal stripes do not have to be boring…it will just require you to do a little bit of thinking outside of the box! For example, during my initial outfit planning session with this striped top, from PinkBlush Boutique, black denim seemed like an obvious match. While I always planned on mixing prints by incorporating a leopard print scarf, when I tried on the top with black pants, one word came to mind: MEH. Considering it is my job to provide y’all with quality “fashspiration,” outfit option number one was not going to cut it. Despite the casual nature of the top, it became quite obvious to pair it with black over-the-knee boots instead. Voila! Just like that the top went from good to great.

Playing off of the suede pockets, I looped a camel and black infinity scarf around my neck to tie in all of the neutral hues. I accessorized further toping the shirt with a fringe cardigan vest, tassel earrings, and oversized black mirrored sunnies. Completing the look with some drama, I threw my hair in a sock-bun and painted on a bright red lip. Now that is what I call horizontal stripes with a twist! Back in 2009, I wore this dress solo, with my hair long and straight, a nude lip, and a pair of peep-toe booties. Fast-forward to October 2015, and I completely transformed the look with a faux fur stole from Bebe. This simple addition not only fancied up the look, but it brought out the peacock design on the bodice of the dress. I further switched things up by incorporating black Stuart Weitzman over-the-knee boots. Minis and OTK boots is totally a thing this season, so this combo helped me refreshen the ensemble to current clothing standards! I polished off the look with a high ponytail and some glitzy earrings from Jest Jewels.

Think twice before you give that special article of clothing away. Chances are it’ll come back in style and you’ll be able to spruce it up with the latest and greatest in fashionable finds.

You might be rolling your eyes and thinking “another two-piece set,” but hear me out! You cannot take a well-fitting suit for granted. So when I came across this beauty, featuring shorts instead of pants, it was a no-brainer to go ahead and add it to my collection of matching separates. My only regret was not finding this wardrobe staple before the 4th of July. Anyway, with a few business casual events coming up on the calendar, I knew this would be the perfect chic look. This time around, going for a tres classique look, I tucked in an ivory cami although an ivory crop top would have worked too. Staying true to the blue and ivory color scheme, I embellished the ensemble with a chunky pearl necklace, and nude patent leather pumps.

You can never go wrong sticking to neutrals, but the next time around, I’m thinking bright red! How cute would this have been over the 4th of July with red pumps and a red lip?! If you are attending a trendy affair in the near future, order this suit while supplies last!

This yellow skirt is everything! The high-waisted fit helps balance out the bodycon silhouette, while the thick material sucks you in – keeping you from feeling overexposed. Never mind the hemline and awesome price point ($59)…while it doesn’t take much to complete a look with such a fabulous starting point, I styled this skirt with a black top this time around. Hardly your average black top, this pretty is what I would call a crop and crochet hybrid shirt! The top half looks like a black cutout crop top while the bottom half features an intricate crochet design. If the black is too racy for you, you’ll be happy to hear it is also available in white ($54). I accessorized lightly with this outfit because I did not want to take away from the garments themselves. I simply threw on a black cocktail ring, grabbed my black and white plaid clutch and my favorite Chinese Laundry dress sandals, and caked on some red lipstick.

Houndstooth is no different than plaid, stripes, or polka dots – it will never go out of style. Maybe the garment styles and silhouettes will change, but the print itself will remain the same and classic as ever. After digging through some old jackets and coats, when I came across this oldie but a goodie, I knew it was time to mix up some “vintage” and contemporary styles. There is nothing more flashy than a black and white ensemble with a pop of red. Naturally, I went for the bright tomato “It’s a Kind of Magic” romper. I’ve owned this racy onsie for quite a while, but had a hard time figuring out what to wear over it, without taking away from its flavor. This jacket worked perfectly because the open front didn’t take away from the plunging neckline, or the pleated shorts. To sweeten the look up just a tad, I accessorized with my go-to pearl necklace and my delicate pearl bracelet. I polished off the look with a clean black purse and solid black Chinese Laundry dress sandals.
