I was just one of many hand-picked guests to indulge in a beautiful lunch spread, lounge poolside, and of course take advantage of the photo ops throughout the property. I definitely felt like a city girl in the country, but I loved every minute of it. I take a lot of pride in the backdrops I choose for my colorful outfits. It is nice to have the work already done for you once in a while. I had a total of thee outfit changes, but this orange maxi dress was undoubtedly my favorite. Who knew a floral crown would be so fun to wear?!

Short girls rejoice: this dress is only $60 and available in “petite” length. Hooray! Anyway, wedge sandals are always safe when you are walking on uneven terrain. This pair is my latest closet addition and the same style and brand that I wore in Colombia. Long story short: they are comfortable enough to wear ALL day long. Get the gold pair here. The Power of a Killer Outfit

When you’re in a funk, dress up in an outfit that makes you feel pretty! I’m not saying you have to spend money to make yourself feel better. It can be an outfit you already own. Yesterday evening the last thing I felt like doing was “modeling” for blog pics. But I ate some plantain chips (does this surprise you?!), chugged a Spindrift, and put my game face on (aka applied my makeup!). As I walked down the hallway to to grab my camera, suddenly my mood elevated. It was definitely the outfit!

If you have a special occasion coming up, YOU NEED THIS LOOK! Never have I ever received as many compliments during a photoshoot as I did at the Palace of Fine Arts, wearing this skirt and crop top. I’m not sure what I love more: the rich colors or the cascading pleats. Regardless, this outfit head to toe is only $128 – earrings and sandals included. For your reference, I am wearing a small with four inch high heels. So remember, when you’re feeling down, the happiness and confidence you are lacking might just be hanging in your closet!

Keep your Standards High, and your Heels Higher!

Wedges are a smart choice if you are on your feet for several hours. There is equal pressure across the entire length of your foot. I am happy to report that I wore these shoes all day for 11 consecutive days with no foot pain or blisters. Shocking – I know, especially for a four inch platform. In terms of durability, I give them a 10. I walked through grass, cobblestone streets, sand, etc., without experiencing wear or tear on the soles. I was also caught in the rain a couple of times and the suede did not blemish.

Aside from comfort and durability, Marc Fisher wedges are suitable for all of your summer/fall fashions. They pair nicely with jeans, rompers, and maxi dresses. Available in nearly every color in the rainbow, you are always guaranteed to match. I am wearing the yellow here, but I am seriously considering buying the purple or blush suede as backup. Mom: Not sure, why?
Me: Because it would make a really cute prop for blog pics while I’m there next week.

True story! No my mom did not buy a vehicle just so that I could take a cute pic, but I am so glad that we have the same taste in cars :). Now how can I kidnap this little bug and bring it back to San Francisco?! Insert all the heart eyes.

What do you get when you put a city girl in the country?! An over dressed gal who sinks in the grass in her four inch high heels. Hurry – someone send the solmates! All joking aside, I love this outfit because it’s practical. I will be the first to admit that my clothes are not the most practical of items. But this sweet peplum top is coming to the rescue and it is the perfect hue for the summer. It will look great with all of your short or long denim – white included. But when you are “blessed” with a petite frame, you are always thinking of ways to elongate the appearance of your legs. I am here to tell you the shorter the better when it comes to jean shorts. Now take it a step further and add a nude high heel to the mix. Voila! Just like that you’re virtually taller.

This was my first time riding in a Volkswagen Beetle. I was pleasantly surprised at the level of comfort in the front seat. It was very easy to drive and handled the New England countryside so well. To all of my fashionable friends…if you are in the market for a stylish vehicle, the Volkswagen Beetle is it! A special shoutout is in order to Mitchell Volkswagen for making car shopping a breeze. This is sixth or seventh vehicle my family has purchased from Mitchell. I guess you can call us creatures of habit?!
