About the fit:
This sequin jumpsuit is not labeled petite but it definitely fits like it is! I almost always need jumpsuits hemmed, but not this time! Now that I got you all excited about potentially wearing jeans on Valentine’s Day, allow me to throw out some denim-friendly date night ideas. Go to a cooking class with your beau – it does not have to be fancy! The Sur La Table near you hosts cooking classes weekly. If cooking the night away sounds torturous, experience dinner and a movie in a whole new way. Find a theatre that serves up generous entrees and delicious cocktails! The Alamo Draft House has all of the above if you reside in San Francisco. Or, for the daring couple, go for a scooter ride! I have said it before and I am saying it again…there is no better way to admire the city views! Rent a Scoot here.

This top is everything. It reminds me of a Lady Gaga shirt minus the sequins. It makes a statement on its own so jeans are a natural choice. Less is never more IMO so I incorporated all pink accents (shocking!). I am very happy with my earring and shoe choice. They are both on sale and add just enough glitz and sparkle to the ensemble. Chaotic is a good way of describing what a weekday blog shoot looks like in the life of KK and JK. Picture this scenario:

2:15 PM: Jonathan runs out of the medical office building and hops in car

2:20 PM: Arrive at shoot location

2:25 PM: Double park or illegally (please forgive me – we don’t live in the burbs!) block a driveway and keep car running with hazard lights flashing

2:30 PM: Jump in backseat and change out of driving clothes and into styled outfit (wrinkled clothes do not photograph well)

2:30-2:50 PM Point and shoot

2:50 PM Drive Jonathan back to office in time for 3:00 PM patient. Eat.Sleep.Blog.Repeat…

Hectic for sure, but it works for us. There was only one time where Jonathan unintentionally “stood me up,” and that’s the story behind these blog pics! I guess that is the risk you take when your photographer is a Plastic Surgeon by Day, Instagram Husband by Later in the Day! Despite the crazy, I am here to tell you that these stripe pants are worth the time and effort. I wore them to a “Galentine’s Day” party last night, and received so many compliments. Now hopefully THESE pictures do them justice because this is it. The third time is not always so charming!

So how should one dress for the day of love? It all depends on how you will be spending the “holiday,” of course! For dinner and a movie, consider jeans a bodysuit. Work in a pop of pink with a sassy lipstick or a colorful shoe. Just make sure you have enough room in your ensemble for a bag of popcorn! For a romantic night on the town, spice things up in a sweetheart midi dress. I am always looking for an excuse to rock a killer outfit (precisely the reason I am overdressed wherever I go)! To me, Valentine’s Day is just a fun opportunity to wear all the pink and red in my closet.

Gone are the days of bodycon minis…hello sweetheart midi dress! This hot little number from ASOS is the perfect compromise. It “skims” in all the right places, but the length hits below the knee. It is all about balance when you dress in a racy garment! The ultra stretchy fabric provides comfort and easy movability – two very desirable properties. Although the dress is loud enough on its own, I could not pass up the opportunity to tote my new lips clutch. The Disco Fur Dress

This dress is dreamy. I love how they pieced together so many elements to create one happy number. At first glance, it screams retro. Probably because of the shift silhouette. But the more you look at it, the more you will notice. Check out the dainty mandarin collar and the coordinating oriental pattern. My favorite details are the faux fur cuffs. As if pointing that out was really necessary. The pale pink and sunny yellow perfectly balance one another out.

The Shoes

Speaking of pale pink…you could definitely rock a pink pair with this flirty piece, but I am partial to a nude heel. Nude shoes have the ability to elongate the appearance of your legs. Who doesn’t want that?! These patent leather sock boots are super trendy and remind me of old timey go-go boots. Considering I refer to this garment as a “disco fur dress,” these funky boots fit into the ensemble nicely.

The Accessories

Too much fur or never enough?! This pretty pink clutch is the PERFECT addition to this playful outfit. Safely store Sephora’s lip stain in Marvelous Mauve inside of your fur clutch for a natural smile. This stuff is magic. It easily lasts for eight hours. Polish off the look with “Vivid Crispin Drops” in yellow. Now don’t judge me if I have this on next week!

The Dress

Blush is the new black. You can never go wrong in a little blush dress. Over the past year, blush has become an acceptable color for year round wear. I love it because it’s a happy hue and you can find it in virtually any shape or form. The Shoes

Never leave the house without properly accessorizing. Anyone and everyone can slip into a dress and walk out the door. What will set you apart, however, is how you piece together an ensemble from top to bottom. The crispin drops from Baublebar in black will make a statement and tie together the entire look. When dressing in dark and light hues, it is important to maintain a balance. The black earrings on the upper half and black shoes on the lower half will accomplish this.

With the temperature topping off at about 80 degrees, the fitted two-piece dress I had planned to wear was out of the question. Instead I decked out in a chic boho look that could have passed as Free People, yet it was a fraction of the cost. Cut off shorts are my favorite. They are sort of like the summer version of distressed denim. When I came across this floral embroidered pair at Forever 21, I scooped them up with our Hawaiian getaway in mind. For this occasion I styled them with a 3/4 length lace shirt topped with a blush fringe vest. Now do you understand the Free People reference?! Anyway, I polished off the look with gold jewelry, my go-to party shoes, and a glass of wine. No wonder I was so relaxed during our photoshoot!

From there we took Yountville Cross Road to the ever popular restaurant, Brix. This gem sits on a beautiful piece of property overlooking the mustard weed. We dined alfresco, on the back patio, and had a wonderful experience. Our server was very conscientious and knowledgeable about the menu. He even greeted our dog by name! We started out with tempura green beans and mushroom cigars – both delicious. For an entree I indulged in truffle roast chicken on top of spinach and mushroom risotto. It was as decadent as it sounds. It would not be Valentine’s Day without a sweet treat, so my hubby and I shared a fudge brownie with peanut butter ice cream for dessert. It was worth the extra calories.
