With the change of seasons comes sales and boy did I score big at Urban Outfitters. Although I don’t want to give away all of the goodness just yet, I do want to share with you this fab romper marked down to $29.99.

The Ecote Sadie Strappy Romper really is as fun as it sounds. Great for a casual Saturday afternoon, especially when the temperature is up. I romped around the city in this flirty little thing before watching the LSU football game (love purple live gold)! Featuring a decorative strappy neckline that tapers into flowy shorts, people will think you’re wearing a dress when you’re standing still. I styled this romper with a lace halter bralette – there is no better way to add a touch of flair than with peek-a-boo lace. I rocked a pair of taupe fringe booties and brought a white cape along just in case the fog settled in. Who says you can’t wear white after Labor Day?! I polished off the ensemble with navy flower earrings, a wine clutch, and a crown braid – the perfect hairstyle for a windy SF day.

When You Find a Fuchsia Hat

When you come across a colorful hat, and it actually fits your head, do yourself a favor and purchase it! Just like a marvelous scarf, the addition of a hat is another great way to transform a bland outfit into a fashion masterpiece in a matter of seconds! When I came across this fuchsia floppy hat at American Apparel, I got really excited. Not only was the color perfect, but it was a good fit and it did not break the bank. Don’t be surprised if this pretty little thing makes an appearance more than once on KK and GG!

While venturing out near Rio Vista, CA (aka the wind turbine capital!) for a summer soirée with relatives, it seemed like a rather fitting occasion to break out my fabulous find! The rest of my outfit consisted of what I like to call my “uniform.” Just like anything else in life, when you find something that works, take it and run with it. For me, that is a pair of jeans, a blouse, a statement necklace, and a blazer. In the ensemble below I styled a pair of mauve distressed skinny jeans. These chic pants can easily take the place of your traditional blue jeans – consider them a neutral. I paired a navy blouse with them and topped it off with my go-to cropped white jacket. To incorporate fuchsia back into the mix, I hung an iridescent rhinestone necklace around my neck, and threw on my favorite hot kicks.

In case you’re wondering, it was extremely windy during this shoot – hence the reason for windblown hair!

Las Vegas On My Mind

If you’ve got a weekend trip coming up, and you need a good outfit to hit the after dinner scene, I’ve got just the right thing for you! There is nothing worse then practically falling over in the airport because you’ve over-packed way too much, pack smart and think two-piece sets, rompers, and jumpsuits. This way, if you’re on a tight schedule, you won’t have to spend time coordinating outfits and you will cut down on the bulk.

Meet the “Bright Mind Chartreuse Lace Romper!” This spicy number is great for warm weather destinations and perfect for your after dinner affair. The lace back will keep you cool and the chartreuse color is killer – not to mention easy to match with. While you might be thinking, “I would never wear an open back romper,” hear me out! Easily pair a white, ivory, navy, or even magenta cropped blazer or cape with this piece for a more conservative look. The cropped detail is key because you do not want to cover up the pleats on the shorts. I went with a cape, the “Proper Education White Cropped Jacket” to be exact, that I am absolutely in love with. This gem is perfect for just about anything. I already demonstrated how to style it over a romper, but it would be adorable over a fitted dress, and your go-to jeans outfit. I hope you like it as much as I do because you’re going to be seeing it all over KK and GG. Did I mention it is only $49 from lulu*s?! To accessorize this look, I fastened a thin belt around my waist, hung a bedazzled necklace around my neck, and popped in some matching stud earrings. Finally, I threw on my nude pumps and grabbed my multi-colored woven clutch. I’ll be on the Las vegas strip wearing this bright thing, what occasion did you have in mind?
