A white blouse is a wardrobe staple and before last year’s holiday look, Get Your Sparkle On, believe it or not, I did not own one! I have no idea how I managed for so long because these classic items are suitable for day and night wear and everything in between. When I came across this beautiful rose collar blouse,  at Forever 21, I could hardly believe my eyes. Only $22.90, I thought to myself, this looks like it’s from Saks or Barney’s! Man do I love a good look for less.

Although your first instinct may be to pair this top with solid black bottoms, that is the easy way out. Fashion is like interpreting a poem. You have to read in between the lines. I immediately envisioned this top with polka dot pants, until I discovered they are nearly impossible to find in the month of February. These printed slacks from H&M were the second best option. The black and white pattern actually accentuates the dainty rose collar – you never want to take away from the ensemble by introducing too many busy textures. Stick with one solid and one not.

I’ve said it before and I will say it again, a pop of color goes a long way! Whether it is in the form of a purse, lipstick, or shoes, easily take your ensemble from B+ to A+ work by incorporating a new hue. This time around I completed the look with yellow patent leather pumps and a colorful box clutch. There is something so retro about a sunny pair of stilettos. Don’t be surprised if you find me wearing this top with polka dot shorts come the warmer summer months!

A flattering cut for daytime or evening wear, and the keyhole back offers a sweet feminine touch. On this trendy Tuesday, I styled this piece for happy hour. Pulling one prominent color, yellow, from the busy pattern, I made it pop even more by accessorizing with similar hues. Finally, for a nice contrast, I polished off the look with my favorite orange clutch by Urban Expressions. Will you be shifting up your fall attire with this hot commodity?!

You’ve already heard my schpiel about food items and how they’re trending in the industry, but seriously, how GREAT is this t-shirt?! The perfect addition to your dress down “Fry Day” ensemble. I love how it can go casual with shorts or fancy with long black jeans. Going for an edgy look, I paired it with distressed denim, yellow patent leather pumps, and a rhinestone necklace. Next time, I may swap out the pants for vegan leather shorts, and polish things off with a cape.

On a kick for mixed prints, I thought it would be fun to pair these shorts with something other than a solid tee. That’s where this off-the-shoulder polka dot blouse came into play! Flirty and fun, the perfect addition to an ensemble already full of flavor. I wore the top tucked in to show off the cut of the shorts and threw on some yellow kicks and a matching necklace. The Sensational Anthem Off-the-Shoulder Heather Grey Dress is perfect for your weekend barbecue or a night of dancing with your beau. Featuring off-the-shoulder sleeves and a plunging neckline, feel sassy and cool in this flirty dress. The full skirt balances out the racy top half and the heather gray can either go dressy or casual. Since dressy is always better in the KK and GG handbook, I paired this hot number with a pair of yellow patent leather pumps, and a black and white beaded headband. I further accessorized with my favorite pearl bracelet with matching ring and my go-to black and white plaid clutch. If you’re wondering how to dress down this look for July 4th festivities, swap out the pumps for a pair of red leather flip flops and exchange the beaded headband for this red white and blue headband instead.

Food items are still trending in the fashion world. Everyday as I scroll through my Instagram feed I notice more and more pineapples, watermelons, and donuts! But not on a plate ready to eat, instead in the form of t-shirts, purses, and even home decor. Originally I thought this trend was just a fad but it does not appear to be loosing its hype. So when I came across the “Cherry On Top” dress, I decided it was time to join in on the food clothing fun. A similar silhouette to my fav midi dress, this dress features a square neckline, and fitted bodice that flows into a full gathered above-the-knee skirt. Did I mention pockets?! Available in Blueberry (pictured below) or Lemon, have your ice cream and eat too when you rock this little thing! I styled this dress with yellow accents. When you’re attempting to accessorize with a bold print, it’s always safe to pick out one of the many colors and just stick to that. Now go find the neighborhood ice cream truck, will ya?

My day is in between the two scenarios above, so I styled my white denim with a chambray off-the-shoulder flounce sleeve top. This shirt is under $50 from Zara and a great versatile piece to add to your wardrobe. I accessorized this look with a chunky yellow necklace, a leopard print clutch, and yellow patent leather pumps. Incorporating a pop of color into an outfit can be a game changer. Without the necklace and shoes, this outfit would have been acceptable, but a tad uninteresting. The yellow hue creates just enough fun and flair!

A note about these kicks…these shoes deserve a shoutout because they are so comfortable, available in a variety of colors and are priced just right. I have a hard time finding closed-toe shoes that fit my narrow foot, so when I orginally discovered the BCBG Paris Jaze Pump, I quickly purchased a pair in black and nude, with the yellow ones being my latest addition. I can promise you you will not find a better pair of pointy toe pumps for under $60, than these! What are you waiting for?!

If you cannot already tell, I am mildly obsessed with printed pants – specifically printed trousers. They are so easy to dress up and way more interesting than standard khakis or black slacks. Naturally, when I came across this pair of side zip paisley trousers, I had to have them. Aside from the comfortable stretch material, the neutral color scheme makes for simple matching and all-year-round wear. To balance out the hip-hugging fit, I went with a beige oversized tunic sweater this time around, although I am already envisioning them with an orange tunic during the fall. I accessorized the look with some statement jewelry, and a python metallic clutch – mixing prints/textures is the latest hip trend. I completed the look with a floppy hat and yellow patent leather pumps. Don’t let the yellow scare you! These kicks match with a lot more than you think, and the sunny hue is a great way to add some pop to your ensemble.
