Whether or not you are a full time or part time fashionista, you probably have a “go-to outfit.” What I am referring to is that ensemble you recycle and wear many times over. Your last minute outfit. Your I don’t feel like putting anything together outfit. Catch my drift?! Even as a full time fashion blogger I confess to owning one too. Today is my attempt to teach you how to coordinate a go-to outfit to avoid those infamous wardrobe malfunctions.
Jeans are the most versatile article of clothing in your closet. Invest in an embellished pair. They do not have to be destroyed like mine but make sure they have a “twist.” Consider embroidered denim, fringe hem denim, or black denim. But if you’re brave enough to rock a pair, I highly recommend distressed denim. Take my word for it, there’s no better conversation starter!
Now that we have the pants figured out, let’s discuss the shirt. Stick with a solid. It will make jacket pairing easier and you can always dress up a solid with accessories. Ruffles are HUGE this season so a top like this is easy to find but if you’re not feelin’ the craze, think one shoulder, high-low, or peplum.
Finally, you already know my thoughts on accessories. An outfit is incomplete without ’em! My pearl studded heels by Stuart Weitzman have become my sandal of choice for this reason. The pearl detail adds just enough funk to the plainest of outfits. In this case, however, the hair picks up the slack on the upper half of the ensemble!
Choose your jeans wisely. Standard blue will never go out of style but they will not add flair to your ensemble! If you’re going to get “caught” in the same outfit, you might as well make it a good one. Thanks for reading!
