Chartreuse Coat Dress & a Side of Polka Dots

I have a crush on the color chartreuse. Not only is it a happy hue, but it is unique. Remember, I am the girl who leaves the Gucci store with a bright yellow purse – #basic! Today we feature a charming coat dress in you guessed it, my favorite, chartreuse.

The coat dress ia a #bosslady’s secret weapon during the cold weather months. We all have crazy busy days where outfit planning simply does not fit into the equation. Fortunately, a reliable coat dress can play two roles: outerwear and daytime wear. Who doesn’t appreciate a two-for-one deal?! Rather than coordinating an entire ensemble, let a coat dress do the thinking and maybe even the talking for you!

So how does one dress in a statement color without looking like a clown?! The answer is rather simple: combine it with classics! In this instance I am wearing a loud coat dress with black and white polka dot pants. The timeless print effortlessly tones down the nontraditional hue – it’s all about balance. Naturally I opted for a bright white boot, though black is perfectly acceptable. For your reference, I am wearing an xs in the coat and it fits true to size. How do you “do” statement hues?!
