Custom Coat and a Black Jumpsuit

It is just as important for a fashionista to own a little black jumpsuit as it is a LBD. Jumpsuits can double as business attire, and streetwear with the right accessories. To narrow down your search, treat each style as separates. For example, if you prefer wide leg pants, look for a LBJ with a flare silhouette. If you prefer a halter top, avoid tube tops and sweetheart necklines. I often gravitate to sleeveless tops and tapered pants when shopping for evening wear. For the reasons stated above, I knew I’d like the Chic Strategy Jumpsuit, by lulus, even before trying it on. I’m happy to report it fit true to size, and the quality is great.     If you’re going to cover up a sharp ensemble, do yourself a favor and top it with something even sharper! That is where Eshakti comes into play. Eshakti is proudly the only online women’s fashion apparel company offering sizes 0-36W and custom clothing. That’s right – leaf through the available items, take your measurements, submit your sample order, and leave it to the powers that be to create your custom garment. It’s that simple and it works beautifully. I had them […]

Mini Dress and a Sherpa Jacket

What is warm, fuzzy, and perfect over your holiday attire?! If the title of this post didn’t totally give it away, I’m referring to a sherpa jacket! The snuggle is real…     With the holiday season comes many festive occasions. Some casual, some dressy and some in between. With obligatory sequined ensembles already in the line up, all that is left to plan are those in between. Target never fails to offer a wonderful assortment of chic designs at very affordable prices. This printed sweater dress, by Xhilaration, is great for a weekend brunch! The fit and flare silhouette is ultra flattering, while the mini length is ideal for over the knee boots. Wear it solo or pair it with a sherpa jacket! This ivory one was only $39 and is truly the coziest piece of outerwear in my closet. Although the dress and jacket are a dynamic duo, I took the look to the next level with pearl jewelry and a fuschia hat. It is hard to resist a pop of color.   ;   Shop this Post: Dress | Jacket | Boots | Boots for Less | Hat | Earrings     Are you reading this from […]

Wish List Wednesday: Metallic Kicks

Back in the day, while running the ever popular Rodeo Boutique, I was introduced to Seychelles shoes. I guess I happened to be at the right place at the right time because several years later they remain one of my favorite shoe brands. From flats, loafers, boots, wedges to platforms, they are crafted beautifully and equally comfortable. If you do not yet own a pair, today is your day to become a loyal Seychelles customer. Below are a few of my favorite metallics.   Meet the flirty Flute! I love these shoes because they are suitable for dresses or jeans. Although also available in navy and black, I’m a sucker for some sparkle – hence the reason I’m crazy for the flute. The unique cut out style is not only edgy, but it will actually elongate the appearance of your legs. I don’t know about you, but I’m SOLD!     Hopeful is a dressier take on the Flute (pictured above). “Mary Janes” have been around for decades, but Seychelles has managed to modernize this classic style with gold leaf designs. How glamorous would these look with a little black dress?! Or paired with your winter white and pastel outfit! […]

The Coat Dress

Every once in a while I like to experiment with pieces out of my normal round up – attempting to keep things fresh. Although coat dresses have been around for ages, believe it or not, this black and gold number is my first one ever.     This look is what my husband (master photographer) and I refer to as my “flight attendant outfit.” While it is highly unlikely that an airline executive is readying this, I’m here to tell you that this coat dress should be included in your uniform redesign plans. No really, your crew would be the best dressed in the friendly skies. Ok, ok, back to business! Being a big fan of classic black and white, I styled a white button down blouse underneath this coat. To create a little bit of drama, I incorporated fishnet stockings and black flash lens sunglasses.   For only $27.99 take this little black dress from the office to the streets in a matter of seconds.     Shop this Post: Dress | Top | Shoes | Stockings     Are you reading this from your email? Winter Pastels: Rose Quartz

Gone are the days where it is only acceptable to wear pastels during the spring months. But don’t take my word for it…take Pantone’s word for it – “the world-renowned authority on color.” The verdict is in and Rose Quartz (pale pink) and Serenity (periwinkle) have officially been named the 2016 colors of the year. For more about that, read last week’s Wish List Wednesday post. Anyway, consider this article your permission slip to wear all of the cotton candy colored outfits you can come up with.     Pantone’s big announcement was very exciting news to me. There is something so blissful about pastels. While you’ve probably begun to notice candy-colored shades in all shapes and forms at your favorite stores, I delved right into the trend with none other than a Rose Quartz cape coat! Crafted out of a luscious microsuede, this piece will sweeten up any soft-hued ensemble. I paired this cape with winter white flare jeans and added a hint of glam through my accessories. The iridescent earrings and glitter pumps popped nicely against the pink, and the metallic clutch brought the whole look together.     Shop this Post: Cape | Pants | Shoes | […]
