Floral Corset and Bell Bottom Jeans

Akira has done it again! Never have I ever consistently been able to find unique statement pieces, one after another, before discovering this Chicago based retailer! And it is not just me who thinks so. I receive endless compliments from Jonathan, friends, and strangers alike when I rock Akira clothing. Like these pants, or this top, or this ensemble. Now let’s talk about this floral corset!     This floral corset is a fashionista’s dream come true. I will never be a jeans and t-shirt kind of gal. Simply put, I am uncomfortable in what I perceive as an uninspiring outfit. Maybe that makes me unpractical, or a not-so-savvy business woman. Maybe more people would buy the ensembles I promote if they were “traditional.” But this is me and I’ll never pretend to be someone I am not! #SorryNotSorry. Unicorn Dress

I used to believe that you should only buy clothes when you had an occasion to wear them. But the more hours I spend browsing the internet, for the latest and greatest in fashion, I am finding this to be a false conclusion. Many of the items I wear are under $100. They are “fast fashion” garments. If you hesitate, they will sell out in your size. I don’t really have somewhere to wear this unicorn maxi dress, but I was excited to share it with the world. 2019 is my year; pink, pastels, and sparkles are plentiful.     This pleated maxi exudes elegance. The sky blue top fades into a sweeping color block design. What does one pair with a “unicorn dress” you may ask?! Colorful hair accessories! An Orange Maxi at Park Winters Summerland

A week ago today, I packed a suitcase and hit the road to Winters, CA. What does this little town have to offer, you may ask?! The charming country side inn, Park Winters! Set across several acres of farm land, this hidden gem has become a very desirable venue for weddings and farm to table dinners. I had a suitcase, but I did not stay the night. Rather I had the pleasure of attending the second annual “Summerland” extravaganza for Bay Area creatives – aka blog pics paradise!           I was just one of many hand-picked guests to indulge in a beautiful lunch spread, lounge poolside, and of course take advantage of the photo ops throughout the property. I definitely felt like a city girl in the country, but I loved every minute of it. I take a lot of pride in the backdrops I choose for my colorful outfits. It is nice to have the work already done for you once in a while. I had a total of thee outfit changes, but this orange maxi dress was undoubtedly my favorite.
