The More Drama the Better

Black on black is one of the easiest ways to get out of the door fast! While I highly recommend this wardrobe “hack,” I also believe that no outfit is complete without a little bit of drama. This is even more crucial when you’re sporting an all black ensemble.     Drama comes in many forms. Maybe it is the bright red lipstick you’re rocking, or the Swarovski crystals around your neck. No matter what you call it, the more drama the better, especially when you’re dealing with black on black! This fab tube top is from Current Clothing (surprise, surprise), and I knew it was going to take a special pair of pants to do it justice. Can you imagine my excitement when I found these faux leather culottes from Zara?! Although the over-sized bow is loud enough, I was able to create more drama by mixing medias i.e., a faux leather textile. Thanks to The Red Chair Salon, I was able to take my bow-tiful ensemble one step further. Who knew a bow bun would only take a few squirts of hairspray, a couple of hair ties, and a handful of bobby pins?!   What can I say, […]

Wish List Wednesday: Kris Nations

I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again, accessorizing is key! Whether you’re meeting a girlfriend for lunch or hitting the streets for a night on the town, take your outfit to the next level with the right set of jewels. On this Wish list Wednesday I’d like to introduce you to Kris Nations jewelry – the best layering pieces!   If you’ve heard of Kris Nations before, chances are you’ve come across the state pride collection. These charming pieces are crafted out of brass and covered in silver or 14k gold overlay. Available in many shapes and sizes these trinkets are the perfect way to show your home state some love.     I’m particularly attracted to the “Tiny Outline” necklaces. These sweet pendants are suitable for 24/7 wear, but also act as a fun layering piece when styled with your go-to costume jewelry. Don’t worry, city folk, they’re available in city names too.     The stud earrings are great for everyday use. If you are like me and you cannot leave the house without a little bling, then these gems are for you. Choose between letters, symbols, and states or mix ‘n match to your liking. […]

Look like a Million Bucks in Five Minutes or Less

I don’t know about you, but more often than not, I find myself thinking, “there aren’t enough hours in the day!” Speaking on behalf of millennials, we don’t like to miss out. As a result, we over extend ourselves. Maybe it’s just in our blood, but we jam pack our schedules so much so that there are days where the phrase, “running around like a chicken with your head cut off” becomes reality! So, if there is one thing you take away from this post, make it this: no matter how busy you are, you do not have to compromise your fashion style.     Add a cape to your wardrobe and thank me later. This hot item will singlehandedly change your life when you’re having one of those “I have nothing to wear moments.” If you already own a cape or two (or four in my case!), the next item you should invest in is a pair of distressed jeans. Who would have thought ripped pants could actually glamorize your outfit?! Now that your cape and torn denim is on hand, the last item you need is a statement necklace – preferably one with neutral hues. With these three […]

Faux Leather A-line Skirt

Once a fashionista, always a fashionista! Way back when, when Limited Too was the “cool” place to shop, I distinctly recall my mild obsession with the “Scooter Skort,” an a-line skirt with built-in shorts. I owned at least 5 colors – blue, pink and white to name a few. It was perfect for my active lifestyle as a young fashion aficionado. I think that is why I was immediately attracted to this faux leather a-line skirt from Current Clothing.     If you’re on the hunt for a flattering skirt, stop the search and turn to a good ol’ a-line skirt. Fitted around the hips, then gently flaring at the hemline, feel good flaunting your curves in one of these things. No wonder they’ve been around since the 1960’s…Although a fan of most a-line garments, I was particularly enamored with this faux leather one. Navy blue is a great transitional color, and considering it is already the last day of August, there is no better time to start thinking fall attire! For this reason alone, I debuted my new fringe booties for this look! Going for a chic vibe, I tucked in a sleeveless turtleneck and polished off the ensemble […]
