After many trips to wine country over the past year and a half, we finally made it further on US 101 North to explore Mendocino County. Our first stop was Hopland, California (halfway between San Francisco and the town of Mendocino) best described as “Small town USA.” Along Center Street, the main through way, stands Hopland Tap House. What a GEM! From the brick facade, to the patio, to the shuffle board table, to the jukebox, this establishment is bursting with character! Being a “tap house,” we assumed the selection of draught beers would be pretty awesome and I’m happy to report we were not disappointed. Pranqster, a locally brewed beer was our favorite. Not to worry, if you’re not a brew drinker, there are a handful of nonalcoholic beverages offered as well. I recommend the fresh squeezed lemonade. Now onto the food…come hungry! It was refreshing to see such a variety of food on a bar menu, suitable for meat lovers and vegetarians alike. Since a trip to Hopland is out of our regular routine, I had to try more than one item.
