I am not much of a jeans and a top girl – never have been and I probably never will be. I find it underwhelming shopping for tops and jeans when I could be shopping for everything in between. Maybe that makes my style impractical, but that’s just me! So, in an effort to “balance out” my wardrobe, I am beginning to add bodysuits to the mix. Today we feature a glitzy gold bodysuit and it just so happens to be the perfect addition to your holiday attire. Life is too short to wear boring clothes Ok, I figured it out. I do not have anything against an old fashioned jeans and top outfit, I am just not comfortable in one. My clothes affect my mood, and I do not mean that in a materialistic way. I vividly remember an incident shortly after arriving to San Francisco. Jonathan and I were venturing out to a new restaurant in the marina, and when he asked me if I was ready to leave, I started to cry. I felt SO BLAH in the clothes that I was wearing. When I reflect back with a clear mind, I can see there […]
The clear shoe trend. We can thank Kim Kardashian for making this style of footwear relevant again. After “jelly” sandals were all the rage in the early 90’s, I never thought I would see them again. I’ll admit, I used to think clear high heels were weird. Well they still kind of are when they smash your toes and fog up while you wear them! Regardless, I am dabbling in the trend and here is why. “Clearly” Versatile I can tell you one thing for sure, they will match with everything in your closet! I used to think that nude pumps were the shoes of all shoes, but I am beginning to believe it is the clear heel instead. What happens when you are wearing a monochromatic look from the ears down? You definitely do not want to introduce another color just because you do not have the perfect purple shoe. That is where the clear shoe game comes into play! Or how about this…you’ve been spending a lot of time outdoors and your legs are nice and bronzy. Maybe your skin-tone nude pumps are no longer your skin-tone! Do I even have to say it…CLEAR HIGH HEELLS. […]
For an “influencer” like me, primarily in the fashion space, there is a constant pressure to establish an aesthetic. Experts say your photos should be so recognizable that your fans could point them out with or without your name on them. Think of a brand as iconic as Lily Pulitzer. Her bright and bubbly prints are SO easy to identify. Well, I have struggled with this since I first started my blog because I like a little but of everything. I am a lover of color, and appreciate edgy and feminine styles alike. I adore a thigh-high slit, but never miss an opportunity to wear classic pearls. To me, my brand is a mixture of all of those things, and this outfit exemplifies just that! Often when I wear an ultra feminine style, I add my own an edgy flair by incorporating surprising accessories. Yes this pink ruffle dress would have looked great with my So Kate Christian Louboutin pumps, but that would be too predictable. Instead, I dressed it with open-toe sock booties. This sexy heel will likely draw attention to the legs, and I am ok with that! The same goes for the faux fur box […]
The slingback pumps are back already. But this time they are accompanying a dress. Today on the blog I am throwing it back to the 1950s in this polka dot dress! This retro little number is a modern-day take on the t-shirt dress – a “basic with a twist.” The material is soft and stretchy, while the princess seams and fit and flare silhouette are ultra flattering on the hips. Had I thought of it earlier, I would have styled this polka dot dress with a pillbox hat. Who do I think I am, Marilyn Monroe or something?! One must pair a classic print with equally classy accessories. That is where the pearls come into the picture… To me, pearl jewelry is the equivalent of a neutral coat. It matches with everything. You already heard my schpiel about this glamorous purse, but I want to share a story with you regarding the sunglasses. They are certainly a splurge item (dupe available here), but they did help land me a spot in Harper’s Bazar during NYFW…just sayin’. Anyway, have you ever experienced buyer’s remorse? When you buy something and then feel unconfident as to whether or not you […]
Stepping into a new month in new shoes. Fashionistas nationwide are breaking out the boots and sweaters in an effort to get into the fall spirit. San Franciscans on the other hand…let’s just say we are having a tough time. It is finally starting to warm up! September and October are historically the warmest months of the year. As you can imagine, this makes dressing for the season pretty tricky. I have been on the hunt for an alternative to wedge open-toe sandals. I do not wear flats – I never have and probably never will. While my color palette doesn’t really change with the seasons, I do update my shoe collection. Introducing the slingback pump – a versatile fall shoe that is comfortable like a flat, but high like a wedge. Slingback pumps…love ’em or hate ’em? I’m not going to lie, I still had mixed feelings about them even after purchasing this white variation. I am pretty sure my grandma Nonie wore a similar pair to church on Sundays. But what makes this pair different (and by different I mean CHIC), is the pointy toe and round chunky heel. The more outfits I tried on with […]
