Yellow is the New Neutral

Yellow is the new neutral. I bet you didn’t guess that’s where I was going with this post. #Sarcasm! I am and forever will be a lover of color. Some people think color is impractical – I think it is endearing. But apparently I am not the only one who feels this way. Some of the world’s hottest fashionistas are sporting 50 shades of yellow. To me, it is a happy hue. It means summer and the sunshine are on the way. This spring I challenge you to try something different and wear a new color! Here’s why I love wearing yellow and why you might consider adding this sunny hue to your wardrobe.     Embodies Confidence Yellow embodies confidence. It is not a good color for a wallflower. If you wear yellow, you’re telling the world you are bold and fearless. Let your clothes do the talking for you. Wish List Wednesday: Forever 21 Finds

30 years old and still shopping at Forever 21. I can already picture my 40 year old self writing a similar post 10 years from now…hahaha! I live and I breathe fast fashion. Why spend hundreds on something you wear once when you could spend $30 or $40?! I have no shame – I love shopping at Forever 21 for precisely that reason. But let me let you in on a little secret. Last year I accompanied Nancy of Current Clothing to market in Los Angeles…buyers from “Bloomies” and buyers from Forever 21 “shop” at the same place. I learned that price does not always dictate quality. Your neighborhood boutique may sell a top for $65 when Forever 21 sells the same one for $30. Seersucker Pink Pants Fit for Barbie

If there was a Colombian Barbie, this would be her play house! No really though, I’ve said it once and I’m saying it again, the architecture in San Francisco is like no other. Picture this: perfectly manicured doll houses all lined up on display. I still get a kick out of sightseeing the homes in my very own neighborhood. It never gets old. Now what would Colombian Barbie wear inside of her play house? Simply put, all the glitz and glam…these pink seersucker pants, perhaps!     Pink Seersucker Pants Seersucker holds a special place in my heart. I lived in Louisiana for five years – everyone down there owns a seersucker garment! These pink pants are a glamorous take on the traditional blue and white stripe print. Closet Cleanup

Spring has officially sprung! May the closet cleanup begin. Over the last couple of weeks I have been on a cleaning kick. I work from home and clutter makes me crazy. If my home is not in order, I cannot concentrate. So, I made it a mission to rid my closet of the clothes that I never wear. I had SO many with the tags still on them that I could have started my own brick and mortar store. Instead, I donated many items to Goodwill, but others are for sale on Poshmark and thredUP. What is leftover will come with me to Femme Fair on April 21st. If you’re petite or know a gal who is, send her my way!     So how does one begin the closet cleanup process?! Start by removing all of the items you haven’t worn in six months or more. If you didn’t know you had ‘em, there’s no way you’ll miss ‘em. Next, sort the items into two piles: what you should donate, and what you should sell (keeping in mind that thrift stores and other re-sale stores don’t want out-dated styles either).
