90s Fashion Called…They Want their Fanny Packs Back

“What goes around comes around.” Chances are high that you’ve heard that phrase before. But what might be surprising is that it is even more relevant with regards to fashion! Fashion is cyclical. What goes out of style one year is the new “it” thing the next. For example, I’m pretty sure I wore this outfit (or a similar version) during elementary school. The only things missing in this ensemble are the pigtails and light up sneakers! It’s official, 90s fashion is baaaack. Gone are the days of black vinyl fanny packs. 2018 designs feature sequins, velvet, and luxurious waistbands. Christian Louboutin So Kate Pumps: Are they Worth the Splurge?

A Christian Louboutin high heel pump is one of the most symbolic items in high fashion worldwide. That coveted red sole has the ability to transform an ok outfit into a fashion masterpiece within a matter of seconds. I proudly own nude “Simple Pumps,” and recently added sequin “So Kate” stilettos to my collection. While they are definitely an investment piece, they’re one of my most prized possessions. I’ve been wearing them for a month already. Here are my thoughts so far. *Full Disclosure: I am an expert high heel wearer and my feet are on the narrow side. Now let’s get real, Ugg slippers are comfortable. High heels and Ugg slippers do not have anything in common! Mom Jeans – the New Boyfriend Denim

Ok, now I “get” it. Once you wear mom jeans, you never go back. Yep, I said it! They are SO practical, and if you ask me, they are the new boyfriend jean. So what makes ’em great? Allow me to explain. They are versatile. If you recall, the last time I hit the streets of SF in mama pants, I was wearing them with stiletto heels. Today, however, I’m wearing them with white booties! I love a pair of jeans that I can style with all the shoes in my closet. Pro Tip: extend the life of your mom jeans and cuff don’t cut. Without permanently altering the length, they’re suitable for shoes of varying heel heights. Mom jeans are comfortable. I can hardly believe those words just came out of my mouth because I used to write off pants that did not stretch. Let’s just say, #BigBootyProblems. White Yoga Pants: Yeah or Nay?!

Last week I polled my Instagram following about white yoga pants. 85% of the respondents voted they were cute, while 15% voted “heck no!” I still have doubts about ’em. But, since it is my job to review the latest in fashion, I’m giving the trend a go. Here is what I have learned so far. White is Not Forgiving Opposite of black, white is considered an enlarging color, and it does not leave much to the imagination. That is why it is so hard to find a flattering pair of white jeans..let alone skin tight yoga pants! If you commit to white activewear, you need to let go of the insecurities.
