Back to life back to reality…although physically I’m in San Francisco, mentally I’m sitting poolside in Puerto Vallarta! Hopefully you’ve been following along on Instagram stories for exclusive vacation footage. But if you are late to the party, I’ll be sure to fill you in over the next several blog posts! Before I left, I shot this look with the lovely Shandru Photography. This little navy dress is a great alternative to the classic LBD. You know what they say, “one is never over dressed or under dressed in a little black dress.” While this statement couldn’t be truer, it is quite possible to get tired of classic black. With wedding season in full swing, today I am providing you with more wedding guest attire ideas. If you do not yet own a little navy dress, get shoppin’! This is an item that you can wear 365 days a year. Now how’s that for versatility?! Now why is navy the perfect substitute for black, you may ask? The answer is rather simple; it compliments every complexion. Navy is always navy. Green, for example, is not always green. Some greens have hints of blue and others hints […]
Whether or not you agree with their lifestyle, the Kardashian sisters are style icons. I would literally wear every ensemble Kourtney Kardashian owns. Her taste is spot on. Some of my favorite looks of hers feature high waisted garments and crop tops. However, with a trip to Vegas around the corner, I’m already dreaming up “going out” outfits. Today’s looks is my attempt to dress like a Kardashian for the day with this Kim-esque ensemble. Bodysuits are hot garments for the summer. But as I alluded to in this post, finding one that fits well and is comfortable is another story! When they fit correctly, they are both sexy and chic. I love dressing a bodysuit with boyfriend denim and skirts. They lay so perfectly underneath fitted and loose garments a like. One of my biggest pet peeves is excess bulk underneath a bodycon garment. There is nothing crisper than neutrals on neutrals during the summer months. When I found this beige bodysuit at Current Clothing, I knew it would be perfect with my new rose gold heels. I love the plunging neckline and strappy back. I paired it with a white fitted midi skirt. This […]
FINALLY beach vacation week has arrived. In T-24 hours I am taking off to Mexico to celebrate my parent’s 45th wedding anniversary. To say I am excited is an understatement. As you can probably imagine, I have been outfit planning like WOW. Today I am sharing with you a few key items I am packing for Puerto Vallarta. Organization is Key With unpleasant baggage fees and luggage restrictions, packing smart has never been more important. I always try to bring pieces that I can re-wear and shoes that match with multiple looks. But practice makes perfect. If you are still trying to find your packing rhythm, consider coordinating outfits on paper first. When you write everything down, you are less likely to fill your suitcase with excess weight. I usually do this in the notes app on my iPhone. With the new checkmark function it’s almost impossible to forget something…and I need all the help I can get in that department! I also use the UPS app to track the items I am waiting on. It’s free and it will send you push notifications regarding the status of your package. Tip* Use the nickname feature to label your incoming […]
Last weekend was the anniversary of our move to San Francisco. It is hard to believe that it has already been four years of city livin’. Regardless, I feel so fortuante to call this magical place “home.” EVERY time I jog along the waterfront, with the Golden Gate Bridge in sight, I am overcome with emotion that I actually live here. It gives me chills. I didn’t know it was humanly possible to be so in love with the city in which you reside. So what’s so great about living in San Francisco? Allow me to explain. It makes you Smarter Whether or not you are trying to learn something new, it happens on the reg when you live in the “center of the universe.” The technology we rely on globally comes from Silicon Valley. The Apple iPhone you are glued to, the Facebook and Instagram newsfeeds you religiously scroll though, the search engine you ask the most asinine questions to, the cab hailing service that makes it possible to have a private driver, etc., are ALL based here. Some of the most acclaimed entrepreneurs (Larry Ellison, Elon Musk, and Marc Benioff to name a few) reside in […]
The summer in San Francisco doesn’t begin until September. Believe it or not, June and July are the coldest months of the year. In fact, last night we turned the heat on to get the “chill” out of the house. While it seems odd that the rest of the country is summer lovin’ in shorts and flip flops, we have incredible weather the rest of the year. So what does one wear during the infamous “June Gloom?!” Summer black is the short answer. It used to be that black was considered a winter color and white a summer hue. Luckily there are no such things as “rules” in 21st century fashion. I wear black all year round because it’s simply chic…literally and figuratively. When you take matching out of the equation, coordinating an ensemble is suddenly easy. Although a true season-proof hue, there are a few things to consider when dressing in black during the “summer.” To begin, show some skin. While slacks and sleeves are great during the winter, try skirts or shorts during June and July. Next, consider adding a pop of color with a bold lip or neon shoe. This is one of […]
