As a result, it is very fitting to dedicate a blog series to the art of styling jewelry! Today’s rendition covers how to choose the right baubles for your LBD. Get out your notepad – it’s all about the neckline, style and occasion. The Neckline The neckline calls the shots. It sounds funny but it’s the truth! When you dress a garment with a high neck, consider a pair of statement earrings. Keep the short necklaces on the shelf and choose a long dainty one instead. Now that you know the basics about New York Fashion Week, it is time to get to the nitty gritty. Is it fun? Of course. Is it exhausting? HECK YES. Is the exhaustion worth it? Absolutely! There is so much prep work that goes into it, you literally play catch up upon your arrival. It was my plan to blog ahead of time…like there was time for that. Between the outfit planning, pitching to brands and designers, and anxiously awaiting replies, all I did was eat, sleep, and breathe NYFW the couple of weeks leading up to it. Below are tips to keep in mind during your first NYFW. Be Open to Outcomes Navigating NYFW is not an exact science. Do not set the bar too high. Orange Bell Bottoms: Why You Should Own a Pair

If you follow me on Instagram, then you may recognize this ensemble. Reason number 8,589 to follow me on social media ;)! This was my “outfit of the day” two Fridays ago during New York Fashion Week. In case you were wondering how to get people’s attention, I figured it out. Wear orange bell bottoms! Here is why you will love owning a pair of pants like this. Legs for Days High waisted pants that taper at the knee will instantly elongate the appearance of your legs. This is a plus for short legged folk like me. I am only 5 feet tall but appear longer and leaner in these party pants. We always want what we can’t have. You know what they say, “fake it till you make it.” Daytime or Nighttime Wear Statement pants are very versatile garments in actuality. In other words, they are suitable for day or nighttime wear. Wish List Wednesday: 6 Fashionable Rain Coats

Those of you that follow me on Instagram, thank you for listening to my inclement weather woes. It has been the wettest winter in the Bay Area since the early 1980’s. I never thought I would say it but I am over-wearing my Hunter fringe rain boots! It was fun to pull these puppies out once a month during the first three years of living in SF, but now it feels like they’re all I wear. Shopping for wet weather gear is a little bit of a letdown, but there is nothing worse than ruining a fab outfit in the rain. It is no different than getting stuck in a storm after a hair appointment. That is why it is just as important to own a collection of fashionable rain coats as a pair of reliable flats.
