Confession: I splurged on fall attire at Current Clothing, my favorite San Francisco boutique. The crisp hues and versatile layering pieces were just too good to pass up. Now that I have the tops and bottoms in place, all I need are the shoes to complete my early autumn ensembles. Check out the fall getup currently on my wish list. Speaking of splurges, last year I purchased my first pair of Stuart Weitzman boots. Although definitely a wardrobe investment, I wore them at least four times per week. I guess you can say I got my monies worth! After trying on what seemed like a dozen pairs of OTK boots, for them to fall down mid step, or uncomfortably squeeze my toes, I tried on the xxx and it was like a match made in heaven. Not only do they conform to your leg, but they are truly the most comfortable pair of heels that I own. The all new “Troika” over-the-knee boot is jaw-dropping good! The same reliable construction that I am used to, in berry color-blocked suede. Pre-order this item before it’s too late! It has been several years since purchasing my first pair of […]
Three years ago, before my life in Cali and the birth of my blog, I never would have imagined myself walking the streets of San Francisco in a sheer crop top! Nothing sheer, or cropped for that matter. From the words of Yves Saint Laurent, “Fashions Fade, Style is Eternal.” I have always been a trendy gal, but living the California dream has diversified my sense of style. Sheer and cropped does not have to be racy. In fact, it can be quite elegant (as seen here). Today I am going to teach you how to wear a sheer crop top and feel confident and chic while doing it! High Waisted Bottoms I would not be caught dead in a crop top without high waisted bottoms. Truthfully, I am very modest and feel the most comfortable when my midriff is covered. If you can relate, the easiest way to dress a crop top is by pairing it with high waisted bottoms. Whether in the form of shorts, pants, or a skirt, they will all get the job done. Style Tip: “High waisted” means different things to different retailers. Before venturing out for the perfect coordinate, pack the shirt in […]
One of the many perks of having a friend who is a store owner is that you get the inside scoop on the season’s hottest fashion trends. When Nancy of Current Clothing returned from market she said, “bell sleeves is the new off the shoulder!” That is fine with me because I love all things 70’s. It sounds ridiculous but decorative sleeves can instantly transform an ensemble from good to great! This skirt and top combination would have been far less interesting if it weren’t for the oversized sleeves. The same goes for this pom pom shirt and this tassel hem dress. Catch my drift?! With September quickly approaching, I am slowly but surely working fall hues into my daily attire. The transitional period between summer and fall is a tricky outfit period. You do not want to dress too summery and bright, but it is still too warm to deck out in full fall weather garb. Try swapping out your blue denim for green. Or your platform sandals for suede peep toe booties. Taking a page out of my own book, I styled this lace top with olive ripped jeans. I polished off […]
When you live in San Francisco, there is no such thing as too many jackets…jackets of all kinds! And as odd as it sounds, the “summer” months are actually the coldest months of the year. Before we hit paradise during September and October, I never leave the house without something to cover my shoulders. I was stoked when I came across this embroidered jacket! Can you blame me? The only time less is more is when you are working with a statement piece. You never want to complete with the garment you are trying to highlight! For the reason above, I dressed in all black underneath the featured jacket. Creating dimension with a peplum top, and drama with flare pants, who says a solid black ensemble has to be uninteresting?! Pulling two accent colors from the pattern on the jacket, I polished off the look with teal dress sandals and a red cross-body bag. Product reviews have never been more important then they are now in the digital age! I rarely ever make an online purchase without reading at least one product review. It is the only way to get honest feedback about the size and […]
You asked and they listened. Don’t you just love it when one of your favorite companies actually takes your feedback to heart?! From the makers of your go-to color kits, introducing the Naked Ultimate Basics palette, by Urban Decay. The Naked color kits have been my preferred eye makeup for the last several years. More specifically, the original Naked palette, and the rose gold one. Whether you want to create a natural or smokey eye, you can accomplish all of that and some with these user-friendly kits. Not only are the hues remarkably stunning, but the quality is top notch. Never have I ever prematurely rubbed off my eye makeup (all-nighter is a miracle worker). Are you a fan, yet?! You already have access to all of the metallic shadows you can dream of, thanks to Naked one, two, and three, but Naked Ultimate Basics is all of your favorite matte colors boxed into one pretty palette. How they came up with 12 brand new hues is beyond me, but they’ve done it. “Extra Bitter” a smooth terracotta, “Commando” the perfect blush base, and “Faith” a glowing ocher shade all deserve a special shoutout. Before you get […]
