Brown and White Maxi

I am all about looking good without spending an arm and a leg. When Make Me Chic wanted to collaborate, I was stoked because they offer the latest and greatest in women’s fashions at a budget-friendly price. I am especially impressed with their dress assortment, but more specifically this brown and white maxi dress. Not bad for $33! Maxi dresses are very elegant, but can be a hard fit on a petite frame. It is all about finding the right cut. If you’re under 5′ 2″ tall, I highly suggest a fitted maxi or one with a thigh high slit. This will undoubtedly avoid the bag lady appearance and it’ll compliment your body type. I love a high slit because it instantly elongates the appearance of your legs. Score! Whether you are out running errands or it’s date night, a maxi with a slit will do the trick. This short sleeve brown and white maxi is a new favorite. Wish List Wednesday: Lulus Summer Sale!

Along with the fashion transition from summer to fall comes SALES! It is that time of year again where Lulus marks down some of the season’s hottest styles up to 80% off. Today I am sharing with you some items from the Lulus Summer Sale on my hot list. The off the shoulder trend has been a hit for 2016, but as with any trend, they come and go. Stock up on your OTS items at a rock bottom price! I’m diggin’ the rompers and light weight dresses for the remainder of the warm weather months. Think backyard barbecues or wine country. You already know my stance on jewelry and accessories – an ensemble is not complete without it. There is no better time to add variety to your collection with bling that you would not feel comfortable purchasing at the regular price. Chic Casual

Today’s look is what I refer to as “chic casual.” If you don’t yet own an ensemble like this, hop to it! Perfect for a mild summer day, or when the fog rolls in if you live in San Francisco, look like a million bucks in five minutes or less. Here is what you’ll need to accomplish just that. Shirt with a Twist Dresses, skirts, and jumpsuits are far more interesting than tops and jeans, if you ask me. That is why I have a sorry collection of the latter two. When I do purchase a top however, I always make sure it has funk factor. Maybe it has an off the shoulder neckline, or a peplum shape, catch my drift?! In this case, the pictured shirt is oversized and features a back slit detail. Complimentary Jeans When styling a boxy top, you really only have two options: skinny denim or skinny distressed denim. It is harder than ever to stay focused. Between Instagram, Snapchat, and Facebook, it’s easy for your productivity to hit an all time low. The craziest part about life in 2016 is that most of our jobs require at least some interaction with social media on a daily basis. Maybe you’re better than me and have found the perfect balance, but I’m still working on it. Banana Print Romper

It’s fruit week on Kelsey Kaplan Fashion and I hope you find it just as juicy as I do! A couple of days ago I taught you how to transform your graphic prints from kitschy to chic. Today I’m hammering the point home with this banana print romper. If a banana print romper does not scream fun, I don’t know what does! As if a lemon peplum top was not playful enough. One of the reasons I look forward to the summer is because it’s onesie weather. Sounds funny but these silly little playsuits are easy to wear and take the guesswork out of creating an ensemble. Yay for saving time and dress-stess! Not to mention they are suitable for a variety of occasions. A simple cloth jumper like this is great for Sunday Funday at Off the Grid, in the Presidio, or a casual brunch date with your gal pals.
