Two-piece set for the 4th

If you follow me on Instagram, than you already caught a glimpse of this two-piece set a few days ago. The vote is in! An overwhelming majority of y’all agreed that I should rock this look for the 4th of July. Whether I wear it Sunday or Monday I have not yet decided, but it will definitely be in the mix. Thanks for the feedback. Matching coordinates are no different then rompers or jumpsuits. They require little to no effort on your part. There is something so chic about them and you essentially get three outfits in one because you do not have to wear them all together. When styling a crop top and matching bottom, keep things classy by making sure the bottom piece is high-waisted and covers your belly button. While I dabbled with high heels, and a cape, I ultimately dressed this look down…surprising I know! Instead, I topped this two-piece set with a distressed denim jacket. Wish List Wednesday: Straw Items

In yesterday’s post, Black Jumpsuit, I offered some style tips and advice to help you transform your dark pieces into summertime favorites. Incorporating straw accessories into your ensemble was one of them. Today’s wishlist consist of a few straw items…surprise surprise! The Maris flat by Sam Edelman is drool worthy. The 1/4 inch espadrille heel is just enough to appease the regular high-heel wearer while the beaded front creates a gorgeous boho touch. My favorite color combo is “saddle” – you know my theory about cognac (it matches with black and brown!). If the pink and yellow beads scare you, check out the navy or rose gold pair. I am absolutely bananas for this clutch. LOL! This bag by KAYU will undoubtedly add personality and funk to your summertime attire. Let the chic streak continue…this time in the form of a black jumpsuit. Crochet is HOT and it is available in all shapes, forms, and shades. Although I am a huge fan of color, there is nothing sharper than a black jumpsuit. Aside from the aesthetic appeal, black is suitable all year round making it a very practical wardrobe essential. Below are a few tips to effortlessly turn your dark pieces into summertime favorites. Colorful Jewelry Adorn your pantsuit with colorful jewels. In the featured look, I paired a bright turquoise necklace and ring with my jumpsuit. Not only did this brighten the look, but it gave the outfit a casual boho vibe. If turquoise doesn’t suit your fancy, coral is a great alternative. Straw Accessories Straw hats and purses, signify the summer. Wood Wrist Watch

Do you too have a pesky habit of arriving to and fro “fashionably late?!” While we are certainly worth the wait, it can become a rather disruptive way of life. If you have not yet already invested in a quality wrist watch, I highly recommend adding a JORD wood watch to your wardrobe! Ladies watches play two roles in our lives. 1.) They increase productivity by helping us keep our day in line, and 2.) They are a good source of arm candy! I can say with confidence that the “Frankie” in Plumheart and Plum does a wonderful job at both. This watch stuns from all angles. Blush, Blush, and a Blush Dress

I’ve had a thing for cat eye glasses ever since purchasing my first pair from Tom Ford three years ago. They are SO retro and a great way to make a statement when you are wearing an ordinary outfit. As my affection for blush continues to grow, I decided there would be no better way to rock my blush stunner shades than with a blush dress and matching shoes. Here’s to another monochromatic look! I don’t always agree with the phrase, “less is more,” but when you are working with a monochromatic color scheme, I could not agree more! Just like a black on black look, sticking with one hue can save time and take away the stress of piecing together an outfit. Not to mention there is something so elegant about this style and monochrome pastel ensembles happen to be my favorite. I styled this little blush dress with pearls and espadrille wedge sandals (last seen here). When you do not want to introduce another color into your outfit, pearls are always a safe choice.
