‘Tis the week of the maxi skirt on Kelsey Kaplan Fashion! While totally different than a mermaid skirt, a flowing pleated skirt is another great option for the warm weather months…here’s why! The summer is a popular time of year for travel. Whether you’re jet setting to paradise, or riding in the passenger seat on a road trip, packing smart will save you time and frustration. A pleated skirt, like the featured item, is wrinkle-proof and extremely comfortable! Get off the plane or hop out of the car looking like a million bucks. Who doesn’t want that?! Aside from the comfort level and aesthetic appeal, when in the right color, a pleated maxi can be dressed down or up – another reason to add one to your suitcase. Wish List Wednesday: Affordable Swimwear

I am not going to lie, although the weather in San Francisco was a beautiful 70 degrees and sunny, over the long weekend, I was a little bit jealous of the pool parties that seemed to take over my social media accounts. Luckily for you, it motivated me to scope out some “looks for less.” It is hard for me to justify spending over $150 on a bikini top when I will admittedly only wear the thing for one season. I hope you enjoy today’s edition of Wish List Wednesday Affordable Swimwear. Mara Hoffman may just be the Queen B of resort wear. All of her patterns and designs are just as sharp as they are unique…and in terms of fit, there is no competition. Minus the $200+ price tag, there is nothing to complain about. Save your hard earned cash and purchase one of these Mara Hoffman-esque looks for less. Another one on my lust list is Same Swim. Mermaid Skirt

Mermaid, trumpet, fit and flare, they are all very similar silhouettes. Over the past five years these shapes have become the go-to choice for brides of all shapes and sizes. Go figure as they are extremely figure flattering! I am happy to report this silhouette has become a mainstream favorite and as a result is popping up across the fashion industry. The last time I wore a mermaid skirt was for a black tie affair. I was stoked to find this knit and less formal version. The only thing better than a maxi skirt is a mermaid maxi skirt!
