Valentine’s Day Dress

Can you believe the biggest Hallmark Holiday of the year is exactly one month away?! That’s right, four weeks from today roses will be marked up 400% and sweethearts across the nation will be primping for a night on the town. Whether you have reservations for a romantic dinner with your spouse, or a group of your favorite “Galentines,” it’s time to start thinking about the most important part. The outfit! Over the next month I’ll be offering you some fashpiration, beginning with this Valentine’s Day Dress.     Although Rose Quartz is officially the “Color of the Year” according to Pantone, in my book, wine aka burgundy has made a big comeback and I’m diggin’ it. A brownish shade of red that’s flattering on every complexion…what’s not to love?! Whether we’re talking dresses, jeans, or accessories, reward yourself with a dose of wine (the liquid kind counts too!). Today’s daily dose is coming in the form of a bodycon midi. I love this dress because it compliments your curves in a classy way. The long sleeves and longer length balance out the glove-like fit, while the open back and slit elegantly flaunt your backside. The fabric is stretchy and […]

Wish List Wednesday: Red Carpet Edition

With the 73rd annual Golden Globe Awards in the books, three days later fashionistas world wide are still discussing their favorite red carpet looks. With out a black tie event in the foreseeable future, all I can do is dream of wearing such a fabulous gown! Below are three dresses I would totally rock for a red carpet event should the opportunity present itself. Maybe one day!   There is no denying it – J. Lo is my style sister. I love her fashion sense and I covet her wardrobe. Over the weekend she stunned the crowd in a yellow cape gown by Giambattista Valli Couture. From every angle, she was glowing. Aside from the fabulous cape detail, the draped fabric accented her killer curves, while the thigh high slit added a steamy touch. She got it right pairing glitter pumps and a glitzy clutch with this gown.     There is something so blissful about Kate Hudson! Maybe it is the pretty blonde hair. Regardless, I admire that she opted for exposed midrif this year. You know what they say, “if you got it, flaunt it.” Two-piece matching separates remain hot commodities, and this gown by Michael Kors was […]

Barcode Dress and Clogs

Every once in a while my hubby and photographer gives my #ootd a playful name. Not just to poke fun at me, but mostly because in between shoots he helps me out by uploading the photos while I change for the next round of pictures. You may recall my “rodeo outfit,” the “parachute dress” or the “flight attendant look.” Yeah, those were all of his creative masterpieces. And if you have not yet already guessed from the title of this post, he refers to this black and white dress as my “barcode dress.”     You can never own enough shift dresses. These little numbers are so versatile, and when in the right color, they’re suitable for wear all year round. A classic black and white version like this one, can take you day and night – hot or cold. For a whopping $17.90 I don’t think you’ll find a better option! One of my favorite color combos is tan and black, so it was a no brainer to clog around in my new studded platforms. Rather than adorning this look with statement jewelry, I hung a thin tassel scarf around my neck to create movement. Thin scarves are trending and […]

Clogging Around the City

If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, then you got a sneak peek at my latest fabulous find: platform clogs. Hello 1970’s! When I said, “clogging around the city,” I really meant it.” From the hair salon, happy hour, Shabbat Services, to two sets of blog pics, I have been living in these things. Who knew a five inch heel could be so comfortable?! It really has been fun seeing the world from 5′ 5″ high. Over the next few days I am going to show you different ways to style clogs.     A few months ago I purchased this awesome fringe shrug from Nasty Gal. I had hoped for it to go over a chevron shirt, but that outfit did not turn out as planned. After the first failed attempt, I tried it with a denim skirt, a corduroy skirt, as well as a black on black ensemble. Still no luck, so it hung pretty and unworn in my closet for the last three months. It was not until I brought home these retro clogs that I decided to give the shrug another try. FINALLY it worked! Moral of the story: if you are going for a particular vibe, dive in […]

Where to Go in San Francisco: The Beauty and Fitness Edition

True Story: I was at the nail salon sitting in the pedicure chair, when a young woman next to me kindly asked me about my nail color. Shortly after realizing that we had similar taste, she volunteered to me that she was fairly new to the city. We proceeded to chat about the best place to go for a haircut, brow wax, Botox, etc. She was so polite and a little bit embarrassed that I spent the entire treatment blabbering away, but little did she know that I consider it an honor to share my go-to spots. I know what it is like being new in town and having to find all of your go-tos over again. Simply put, it aint’ easy. So, whether you are a new-comer to San Francisco, or a gal who is simply unsatisfied with her “people,” listen up!   Hair care: Ladies and gentleman alike rave about the Red Chair Salon. This gem of a salon is located on Union Street at Octavia. If high-end and full service both sound good to you, then this is your place. Book an appointment online and go see Kristin for a cut, color, style, or blow out. Although her sis, […]
