I hardly EVER publish articles on the weekend. In all honesty, I was afraid this ensemble would sell out faster than I could blog it. So here we are…ready for the LSU Tigers to beat the Florida Gators decked out in purple in front of a gold house. Haha. Just kidding…well sort of. This little number is too good not to share on a Saturday, and will easily carry you from the office to happy hour. Not bad for a $60 set if I say so myself! The bold lavender and blush print is unique, while the chunky gold buttons add the perfect feminine details.

In my true Latina fashion, I styled the blazer as a top. I LOVE it like this but recommend pairing it with this turtleneck if you are a 9-5 gal. We are experiencing very mild temperatures in the Bay Area so I styled this look with sandals. Ankle boots are another great option or OTKs if you are “blessed” with stilts for legs! Now how many times do you think I will re-wear this suit during the fall? I already have one special outing on the books!

“Clearly” Versatile

I can tell you one thing for sure, they will match with everything in your closet! I used to think that nude pumps were the shoes of all shoes, but I am beginning to believe it is the clear heel instead. What happens when you are wearing a monochromatic look from the ears down? You definitely do not want to introduce another color just because you do not have the perfect purple shoe. That is where the clear shoe game comes into play! Or how about this…you’ve been spending a lot of time outdoors and your legs are nice and bronzy. Maybe your skin-tone nude pumps are no longer your skin-tone! Do I even have to say it…CLEAR HIGH HEELLS.

Legs for Days

If you want to effortlessly lengthen the appearance of your legs, add a pair of clear high heels to your shoe collection! I am only 5 feet tall but I think it is fair to say that I appear average height in these photos. When you wear clear shoes it is like you are walking on invisible stilts, but they are far less distracting than a pair of platforms. It is only human nature to want what we cannot have!

Women in menswear was ALL over New York Fashion Week. From boyfriend blazers, suits, to trousers, you name it, it was spotted. There is something so polished and chic about a well-fitting blazer. So when you take those design elements and craft them into a dress, the outcome is genius. This steamy little number is under $100 and looks like it was taken out of one of the Kardashians’ closets! If you dare, wear it bare. For added coverage consider topping it over biker shorts and a matching top. Now have I changed your mind about the clear heel trend?!

This retro little number is a modern-day take on the t-shirt dress – a “basic with a twist.” The material is soft and stretchy, while the princess seams and fit and flare silhouette are ultra flattering on the hips. Had I thought of it earlier, I would have styled this polka dot dress with a pillbox hat. Who do I think I am, Marilyn Monroe or something?! One must pair a classic print with equally classy accessories. That is where the pearls come into the picture…

To me, pearl jewelry is the equivalent of a neutral coat. It matches with everything. You already heard my schpiel about this glamorous purse, but I want to share a story with you regarding the sunglasses. They are certainly a splurge item (dupe available here), but they did help land me a spot in Harper’s Bazar during NYFW…just sayin’. Anyway, have you ever experienced buyer’s remorse? When you buy something and then feel unconfident as to whether or not you made the right decision afterwards? Usually this feeling is self-inflicted, but just the opposite occurred when I purchased these designer frames. The sales associate encouraged me to return the sunglasses after wearing them for the weekend because “[ I ] could only photograph such a statement piece once or twice.” AWKWARD. I can appreciate a salesperson not being too salesperson-y, but this person was causing me buyer’s remorse before I even left the store. I am happy to report that I’m thrilled with my purchase, and I have already shot them a handful of times. When you know, YOU KNOW. I guess that’s love!

Slingback pumps…love ’em or hate ’em? I’m not going to lie, I still had mixed feelings about them even after purchasing this white variation. I am pretty sure my grandma Nonie wore a similar pair to church on Sundays. But what makes this pair different (and by different I mean CHIC), is the pointy toe and round chunky heel. The more outfits I tried on with them, the more they grew on me. They are the fall version of a wedge sandal and I am so glad I found them! Suitable with jeans and dresses, this week on the blog you will see them paired with both. No grannie looks here!

Adding this multicolor sweater to your wardrobe is a great way to keep your fall apparel colorful! I am impressed at how comfortable and potentially warm it is considering the $25 price tag. It fits true-to-size and the cut is a loose. Layer away in this flashy little thing. Or, wear it to conceal your food-baby after you eat more than one ice cream cone. No one is judging you! If you follow me on Instagram then you may recall seeing this houndstooth suit! I could not decide between blue or the mauve until you guys chose the blue for me. In case you have no idea what I am referring to, Instagram stories allows you to poll your audience! Anyway, I listened to “the people” and they chose blue. I could not be happier with it! This pretty little thing is only $55 (no that is not a typo!) and the perfect addition to your fall wardrobe. But for such a classic print this is not your average houndstooth print set. That is why I’m attracted to it. I can never resist a dramatic sleeve or fringe hem embellishment!

 
Three years ago I discovered Shrimps fashion label while perusing the internet for a jacket. If you can afford it, here is where you’ll find statement pieces GALORE. Known for their playful patterns, fabulous faux fur, and daring accessories, I have been dreaming about this pearl beaded purse for way too long! While Shrimps deserves the design credit, retailers like Shein and Miuco have finally come out with dupe versions. Let me just say, it was worth the wait! Thank goodness blush is continues to dominate because I am not ready to retire it! Consider swapping the white denim for blush this fall. Make this rosey hue pop with metallic accents and printed outerwear. A gold bootie is always a good idea!

Bodysuits for the Win

What did we do before bodysuits were a “thing?” These garments make wearing skirts so much easier. They eliminate all of the excess bulk. Add a little edge to your skirt and bodysuit combo this fall with a textured sock bootie. I own the camo print version of this boot and they are just as comfortable as they are stylish.

Faux fur remains a hot commodity for the fall and this yellow and white jacket is my favorite item included in the 2018 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I like that it can add some flair to your evening wear, or totally dress up a pair of jeans. Versatility is always something that I will get behind!

I know what you are thinking, “this is too good to be true.” You are definitely not dreaming and this dress is definitely worth more than $15. Regardless, there is something so flattering about a fit and flare dress. That is probably why the f&f silhouette is so popular among brides. It hugs your bod in all of the right places, perfectly accenting your assets. Who can complain about that?! So where does one find a smokin’ hot dress for less than $20?! At Shein, of course!

Having an open mind is not only good for the soul, but it will come in handy when you shop for clothes. I will buy an outfit from ANYWHERE as long as it makes me feel good. I do not believe that price automatically denotes quality or “purity.” This inexpensive dress fits better than some of the designer items hanging in my closet with the tags still attached. The key to shopping successfully regardless of price is to pay attention to the product details and reviews. More specifically, the garment’s composition and the model’s measurements. Ask yourself these questions: Does the fabric stretch? How tall is the model and what size waist does she have?

Being cognizant of such details will save you the hassle of returning online orders. I have never returned an item from Shein after comparing my body measurements to the product details. Bonus: The cropped hem fits as a traditional maxi for petite folks. Happy shopping!

Classic Colors

This rule applies to everyday fashionista life. When in doubt, wear black and white. This classic combo will match with everything, including pink booties. It will also tone down your look if you’re new to the colorful shoe trend. At New York Fashion Week, obviously I would wear these booties with a matching pink suit. For a regular day in San Francisco, however, this black and white ensemble will still have people lookin’.

Confidence

Kill it with confidence! It sounds cliche, but it is the truth. Wear your new pink booties like you were made to wear ’em. There is nothing more attractive than a smiling lady who wears her head high. Besides, happy girls are the prettiest and it’s almost impossible to walk down the street in happy feet without a smile on your face. Prepare for pink bootie overload – I can assure you this is not the first or last time you’ll be seeing them.
