Fancy Phone

Dressing up your device is a simple way to express your personality, but these (1) customizable phone cases take it to another level. I’m itching for the pink one – surprise surprise! Speaking of our most prized possessions…if your quarantine is anything like mine, your phone battery hardly lasts a day. It is SO easy to be on it 24/7. Bag Goals

All that needs to be said is, BAG GOALS. Each one of these beauts is unique, flashy, and fun. Obviously I am enamored with the multicolored Gucci (13), I am a #GucciGirl at heart, but I would welcome any one of them into my closet with open arms. I have the hardest time finding beach bags (16) that actually excite me, but rainbow rhinestones surely do the trick! Insert heart-eyes.

Shoe Crush

If I was in a position to splurge, it would be on these Gucci platform sandals (4). It is no secret that pink is my favorite neutral and these are SO classic. They would literally match with everything in my closet and they’re the perfect heel height. Plus, you can dress them up with dresses/rompers/jumpsuits, or down with some comfy matching separates. But in the meantime, these (7) glitzy flatform espadrilles for under $50 will have to do!

Let’s Dress up

Oh em gee. I’ve been admiring this (10) hot little number for over a week. Not only is it the perfect LSU dress (GEAUX TIGERS!), but it screams spring and that makes me happy. I look forward to the occasion where it’s appropriate to wear and plan to accompany it with these (9) earrings and this (8) dazzling face cover – yep, I went there. If the use of face masks is our new normal, then might as well make it a chic choice.

If you dress like it’s Valentine’s 365 days a year, then this dress is for you. It is only $68 and just as fun to wear as it is to look at. It is certainly fitted, but that is what you get with a bandage-style garment. The thick stripes across the natural waistline shape your bod into a coveted hourglass figure, while the off the shoulder neckline flatters in all the right places. When I posted this dress to Instagram stories I referred to it as a, “Spanx” dress. After my experience with Spanx last night, I take back what I said! Haha. Now that I got you all excited about potentially wearing jeans on Valentine’s Day, allow me to throw out some denim-friendly date night ideas. Go to a cooking class with your beau – it does not have to be fancy! The Sur La Table near you hosts cooking classes weekly. If cooking the night away sounds torturous, experience dinner and a movie in a whole new way. Find a theatre that serves up generous entrees and delicious cocktails! The Alamo Draft House has all of the above if you reside in San Francisco. Or, for the daring couple, go for a scooter ride! I have said it before and I am saying it again…there is no better way to admire the city views! Rent a Scoot here.

This top is everything. It reminds me of a Lady Gaga shirt minus the sequins. It makes a statement on its own so jeans are a natural choice. Less is never more IMO so I incorporated all pink accents (shocking!). I am very happy with my earring and shoe choice. They are both on sale and add just enough glitz and sparkle to the ensemble. What do you get when you mix a sweatshirt and a dress?! Cozy perfection! There is nothing better than coming home from a long day and slipping into your favorite sweats. No need to hibernate inside with the Jessa Sweatshirt Dress from Lover + Friends. This item is just as stylish as it is comfortable and can go casual or dressy. Age is Just a Number

When we first started dating, our age difference only seemed to bother other people. It was never an issue for us and it has proven to be an important piece in our Kaplan family puzzle! Jonathan has a decade more of life experiences under his belt. As a result, he sees the world differently than I do. Jonathan is a very rational thinker – I guess that is what four years of medical school, five years of residency, and a two year fellowship will do to you! He helps me see things for what they are and helps me focus on what really matters. And yes, I “keep him young” but not in the traditional sense. Jonathan attributes much of his success on social media and marketing to “marrying a millennial.” He’s always evaluating my tricks of the trade and applying them where applicable to his ventures.

Besties for the Resties

Jonathan and I are best friends. We like the same things, we enjoy the same foods (Capaninna and Tony’s say whaaaat?!), and relish the same pastimes. San Francisco lovers…convince your significant other to ride a scooter. It’s the best way to experience date night in the city.

Give and Take

I am Jonathan’s number one fan, and he is mine! He is always one of the first people to “like” my photos on Instagram, and I still get so excited every time a new consult books surgery with him. We always support each other’s endeavors. He squeezes in blog photo shoots {in scrubs} in between patients, and attends “doggy brunch” in my place! I fill in as phone operator on a whim at the office, and I’m an unofficial Uber driver during conference season. Jonathan and I are more than life parters; we are business partners and I cannot imagine it any other way.

Time is Money

We’ve always respected each other’s time. Whether that’s time at work, time with friends/family, or time at the gym, we do not question each other’s decisions when it comes to time. As far as alone time…yeah that doesn’t really happen. We have more fun when we are together!

Opposites Don’t Always Attract

Jonathan and I have very similar personalities. We are both very social, forthright, motivated, extremely strong-willed, and share many of the same quirks. Contrary to popular beliefs, this works for us. Jonathan would be very bored in a relationship with someone who did not challenge him. I would be aggravated with a spouse who did not voice their own opinion.

Kaplan Team

We are a team. You mess with him, you mess with me, and honestly I cannot imagine anything scarier – #lookout! Jonathan is my Face ID when I am not around, and I am his voice when he cannot speak for himself.

Admire the Hustle

We share a genuine interest in each other’s careers. The transformations that occur at 2100 Webster Street never cease to amaze me! And after nearly a decade of “plastic surgery talk,” I am more than capable of conducting a knowledgeable and thoughtful consultation. Click here to book an appointment with yours truly. Ha! If it didn’t require 11 years of training, I would become a plastic surgeon tomorrow. Jonathan continually admires my clothing eidetic memory and ability to coordinate an outfit. I cannot remember where I put my phone two seconds after using it, but I can recall the outfit I wore to the second night Seder in 2010 (insert laughing emoji). Shortly after we were married, we attended a medical conference together in New Orleans. I’ll never forget when he called his mom just to tell her that he was with the “the best dressed woman at the convention center!” Now I would not go so far to say that he’d start a blog about fashion, but he is wearing martini slippers for goodness sake! Now for the million dollar question, who has a stronger shoe game?! Dr. or Mrs Bae?!

It’s easy to pack your wardrobe with the colors most commonly associated with fall. The greens, yellows, and brows. But this presents a problem if you are a lover of color, like myself. I wear a lot of vibrant hues and a lot of pink – regardless of the time of year. Rather than completely changing your color palette, consider switching up your accessories. Instead of straw, wear velvet. Or, swap the sandals altogether for a pair of booties (as seen here). It is never acceptable to sacrifice your personal style to conform to a set of rules you think you are supposed to follow. Tweaks like this make it easier to wear whatever you please 365 days a year.

This dress is not a traditional fall garment but it works in California weather! I LOVE the bright hues and statement sleeves – surprise, surprise! The mini length is great for booties and you could drape a jean jacket over your shoulders for added warmth. But if the temperature is already dropping where you live, don’t fret because there is a top available in this glorious print too. And it features an off-the-shoulder neckline. Is there anything better?! Now i just have to decide, is two garments in the same print excessive?!
