This jumpsuit is a quintessential Free People garment! The ornate material looks like a beautiful neck scarf. I just LOVE the vibrant colors against the contrasting tie details. The fit on the other hand is comfortable and cool – suitable for the Puerto Vallarta climate. I slipped a lace bandeau underneath the jumpsuit for moderate coverage. This rendition was perfect for a tropical evening on the town.

Free People garments are an investment but they are worth it. Simply put, they are versatile. This jumpsuit is appropriate for day time or evening wear. Two Saturdays ago, Jonathan and I went out for brunch at Le Marais Bakery (the new Castro location). I swapped the bandeau for a sleeveless turtleneck and the high heel sandals for a pair of wedges. Luckily there was enough room for my “food baby.” Our eyes were definitely too big for our stomachs’! IF you find yourself in the Castro neighborhood at brunch hour, do yourself a favor and order the avocado toast at Le Marais.

Is embroidery cool? The answer is YES and it’s popping up across the fashion space in various forms. From jeans, jackets, tops, to accessories, you name it – there is an embroidered version for sale. I am a little late to the trend, as embroidered jeans bring me back to my childhood years, but better late than never! So, here is my attempt to teach you how to wear embroidery without looking like a five year old!

To begin, pair your embroidered piece with mature counter garments. For example, when styling overalls, stay away from sneakers. Instead, dress your playsuit with a lace top and strappy sandals. Smething you would never find a toddler wearing! In today’s look, I dress an embroidery embellished skirt with a flirty off the shoulder top. The sophisticated top balances out the playful lower half. Finally, never forget to accessorize your look. Jewelry, makeup, and shoes have the ability to transform an outfit from cute to sexy. For example, I lathered on a steamy red lip and a pair of tassel earrings. Now do you see why I call this my fiesta outfit?!

I’ve always been self-conscious of my height. I have an athletic body, not a dancer’s body, so I know every trick in the book to elongate the appearance of my legs. Wearing flats isn’t one of ’em, but I’m afraid I’ll suffer the consequences later in life if I do not address my foot health now. Seychelles is my go-to brand for stylish and comfortable shoes and has been since 2008. I first discovered them on the job at Rode’o Boutique. I proudly owned at least a dozen pairs after that. Wouldn’t it be nice if more companies put the same emphasis on comfort as design?

The Quake platform sneaker is a great compromise for the on-foot fashionista. I searched the internet top to bottom for feminine slip on sneakers, but it wasn’t until I stumbled upon this pair that I was “sold.” No offense, but I do not want to be mistaken for wearing a pair of unisex Vans! Those are SO 2015. Leave it to Seychelles to design a pointed toe sneaker with ruffle detail and a platform heel. This my friends is what I call sneaker perfection!

After breaking them in over the weekend, I give them two thumbs up. The only complaint that I have is that everyone in the marina is going to own them. I was asked so many times where I bought them. But hey, that is what I am here for! I started out in jeans, followed by cutoff shorts, to this bodycon mini dress before I realized one thing. The shorter the garment the better! I tied a jean jacket around my waist to provide some back coverage, but I really like how these ruffle platform sneakers transformed my outfit from racy to functional. Are you a fan of rompers?! I often gravitate towards them because they do the thinking for you. If you’re routinely “fashionably late” (what would I do without that excuse) rompers can be time savers. Slip it on and off you go. It is important to find the right figure flattering cut, so that it does not appear childish…unless you want to look like a 5th grader! I look for trendy silhouettes with sexy accents. In the featured look, on the surface, what you have here is an innocent eyelet onesie. The plunging neckline and tie-front detail however, take it from daycare to date night.

This eyelet romper by Selfie Leslie for Forever 21 is sweet and spicy! Between the scalloped edges, and the ruffle hem, can you say, “cuteness overload?!” To compensate for the plunging neckline and short shorts, I topped this little number with a denim jacket. Again, when styling a questionable ensemble, covering your shoulders is one of the easiest ways to it turn down a notch (this fashion hack was last seen here). Finally, you can always count on pink and pearls to give your look a lady-like vibe.

Aside from the comfort level, bf jeans are a great versatile style because you can easily take them from day to night. With a chill in the air after all of the wet weather we’ve been having, I paired my jeans with a casual black sleeveless sweater. I accessorized the look with a tassel sequin clutch purse and black caged heels, last seen here. For a pop of color, I incorporated turquoise earrings and a matching ring. How is that for a little Sunday Funday attire?!

About the food…if you’re looking for a scenic meal away from the popular tourist traps in Sausalito, consider patio dining at Le Garage. Nestled along the marina, this rustic bistro brings brunch with a view to life! Whether you’re in the mood for Croque Monsieur, P.E.I. Mussels Marinière, or an Omelette, there is no shortage of edible French flair here.

After nibbling on the complimentary pain and butter, we ordered a round of waffles for the table. Light and fluffy, topped with nutella and whipped cream, what is not to love about this combination?! For my main dish, I ordered a veggie and goat cheese omellete. I very much enjoyed this entree as the goat cheese was delicious and the mixed greens were dressed just right. While I only managed to taste a few frites off of my hubby’s plate, everyone else enjoyed their meals too.

I’ll be the first to admit that wearing maxi length anything can be a bit of a challenge, if you were blessed with a petite frame. On the other hand, I’ll also admit that maxi length garments will effortlessly elongate your figure. So, rather than paying your tailor to chop off a foot of fabric, the next time you are in the market for a maxi skirt, search for a “midi” instead. That is how I scored the Contemporary Vented-Hem Midi Skirt from Forever 21! While it hits the 5′ 9″ model at her mid calf, it falls right below my ankles.

“Olive” this piece for many reasons, the first of which is the color, obviously! The hip hugging silhouette is very flattering, and the back slit screams sassy. Thanks to the high waist, I was able to style this skirt with a Lace Yoke Cropped Top, in my new favorite neutral, blush. I accessorized with blush hues, toting a metallic rose clutch, and rose gold rhinestone earrings. If you live in a winter wonderland, top this look with a sherpa jacket and swap out the high heels for tall boots.

Meet the flirty Flute! I love these shoes because they are suitable for dresses or jeans. Although also available in navy and black, I’m a sucker for some sparkle – hence the reason I’m crazy for the flute. The unique cut out style is not only edgy, but it will actually elongate the appearance of your legs. I don’t know about you, but I’m SOLD!

I always have faith in Seychelles when it comes to ankle boots. Faithful in taupe is just dreamy. The metallic heel is perfection.
