Generally speaking, I am not a flats kind of girl. I live in high heels. When you see the world from only five feet high, the extra boost can come in handy. However, my fourth year in San Francisco is quickly approaching and the hills are not getting less steep. Although they are far less physically challenging to climb! This spring I’m giving my feet a well-deserved break. Thanks to these ruffle platform sneakers, it’s working out fashionably well.
I’ve always been self-conscious of my height. I have an athletic body, not a dancer’s body, so I know every trick in the book to elongate the appearance of my legs. Wearing flats isn’t one of ’em, but I’m afraid I’ll suffer the consequences later in life if I do not address my foot health now. Seychelles is my go-to brand for stylish and comfortable shoes and has been since 2008. I first discovered them on the job at Rode’o Boutique. I proudly owned at least a dozen pairs after that. Wouldn’t it be nice if more companies put the same emphasis on comfort as design?
The Quake platform sneaker is a great compromise for the on-foot fashionista. I searched the internet top to bottom for feminine slip on sneakers, but it wasn’t until I stumbled upon this pair that I was “sold.” No offense, but I do not want to be mistaken for wearing a pair of unisex Vans! Those are SO 2015. Leave it to Seychelles to design a pointed toe sneaker with ruffle detail and a platform heel. This my friends is what I call sneaker perfection!
After breaking them in over the weekend, I give them two thumbs up. The only complaint that I have is that everyone in the marina is going to own them. I was asked so many times where I bought them. But hey, that is what I am here for! I started out in jeans, followed by cutoff shorts, to this bodycon mini dress before I realized one thing. The shorter the garment the better! I tied a jean jacket around my waist to provide some back coverage, but I really like how these ruffle platform sneakers transformed my outfit from racy to functional. How do you style your slip on sneakers?
