Overalls…they’re baaack! In the fashion world, what goes around comes around, and for whatever reason, this statement is truer than ever this 2016 spring season. From bell sleeves, wide leg pants, to overalls, our favorite vintage styles are back “in” and I’m lovin’ it.
I am the first to admit that there are many items in life that I avoid wearing so that I am not mistaken for a 14 year old. Some people say this is a good problem to have, but there are times when it can become a bit cumbersome. Like when the TSA agent in Maui, a couple of months ago, asked me if I was old enough to travel alone! Yep, true story. Anyway, overalls have typically been on that list, however, it turns out when styled correctly, they can have the opposite effect. It is all about the under shirt and the shoes!
If you pair your overalls with a t-shirt and Keds, you’re asking for questions. Instead, style your overalls with a top that you would not find in the kid’s section. A lace bodysuit (seen here), or a sleeveless turtleneck demonstrated here, both fit the bill. I think we can all agree that this look would have a different feel if I had coordinated it with tennis shoes. Incorporating a racy shoe like a lace-up high heel gives off a mature vibe. To further age-proof the ensemble, I rocked a pair of tassel earrings and toted a black and white clutch purse.
Now that you are confident enough to rock an age-appropriate pair of overalls, shop this post:

Thank you so much Hales! I feel like I am living my childhood years again! I used to rock Gap overalls way too often. I think I even had a pair of velvet ones too. Haha. Happy Monday!
