Lucite Heels can be Classy

The iconic phrase, “what goes around comes around” certainly applies to fashion too! I vividly remember wearing my little girl’s lucite heels and pretending to be a “pretty pretty princess” when I was about four years old. Fast forward a couple of decades and some and here I am on the streets of San Francisco in lucite heels! Whether or not you like them, the Kardashian sisters deserve the credit for making these kicks cool again. Today is my attempt to teach you how to dress a pair without sacrificing your class. Hear me out!

Just like patent leather high heels, translucent heels are also available in a variety of shapes and forms. I love the lace-up kind because they emulate a lace-up bootie. If you have been following my blog for a while then you know how often I wore my pearl embellished lace-up booties during the winter (seen here and here). What a relief to find a replacement shoe cool enough for the spring! Maybe you are uncomfortable with lace-up shoes across the board…if this is the case, check out the alternative pairs I round up for your shopping pleasure.

What is your definition of a “classy” outfit? To me, the first thing that comes to mind are pearls. Therefore, this pearl embellished skirt was the perfect item to begin my ensemble with. The timeless a-line silhouette is easy to style and particularly crisp in black. I dressed it with not your average t-shirt, but a simple white top or button down would also work. When dressing a “conservative” bottom, cease the opportunity to get funky with the top and/or shoes. I balanced out the edgy accents with pearl jewelry and a tres classique Prada handbag. There you have it, an outfit with class and a ton of sass!
