How Men Can Wear Marsala

Last week, Pantone announced its annual “Color of the Year.” If you haven’t already heard, Marsala took the 2015 crown. Defined as a, “naturally robust and earthy wine red,” Marsala is not only a fun color to add to your wardrobe, but it’s suitable for home decor and appliances as well.

You might be surprised how much Marsala you already own. Maybe it’s the color of your every day lipstick, or your nail polish. For the men out there though, it might take a little bit more effort to work this hue into your attire…but if you’re gonna buy into the hype, you might as well dive in with both feet!

Start out with a couple of neutrals such as beige, and an earthy green, then work in Marsala for some added pop. In the outfit below, I started out with a textured crew cut sweater, and paired it with an olive green sport coat. Because a tie was out of the question, I jazzed up the top half with a scarf featuring a contrasting yellow stripe. I completed the look with a pair of jeans in the sharpest color around, Marsala.
