Fashion, Outfit of the Day

Cloudy with a Chance of Showers

There is nothing worse than a “chance of rain” on one of those days when your schedule is jam packed with errands to run. Who wants to hit the streets when it is drizzling on and off?! I know I don’t! Well, when it’s out of your hands, and the weather changes on a dime, at the very least dress smartly! Although foul weather gear can be pricey, think of it as an investment. Once you have it, it’ll last you a few years.

Begin with a pair of chic rain boots. In the ensemble below, I’m rocking my fringe Hunter boots. Out of the entire collection, I chose these because they don’t scream rain boots – they can pass for leather. Plus, the fringe detail is a mixture of black and blue making them suitable for black or blue pants. This time, I paired my kicks with black “wet leggings” and a long khaki cardigan – stormy weather isn’t an excuse to sacrifice style!

Secondly, when the sky is threatening, I always wear a scarf. It can double as a hood or a shawl. But if you’re really worried about your luscious locks, carry a hat and prevent the frizz.

Finally, get yourself a stylish umbrella and tote it around as a fashion accessory. I’m obsessed with this “Moustache Bubble Umbrella.” Available in a variety of fun shades, it’ll instantly add color to an otherwise gray day.
