Rather than indulging in a donut for breakfast, treat yourself to a healthy smoothie! This protein packed frozen drink will keep you feeling satisfied for longer and help you cut back on snacking in between meals. In no way shape or form am I a nutrition expert, but I am speaking from experience.
- 1 banana
- 1 handful of berries (I used strawberries)
- 1/2 cup crushed ice
- 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
- 1-2 tablespoons almond butter
After slicing up the banana, pour banana, crushed ice, Greek yogurt and almond butter into blender, pulsing until smooth . Once mixture is smooth, add berries of choice. Serve and enjoy or transfer into your favorite travel mug and sip on the run.
A word about my Hamilton Beach blender. It took a while for me to find a compact blender that I could easily store when not in use – counter/cabinet space in San Francisco is pretty limited. This mini blender is available in four colors – I chose green but it also comes in red, white, and black (at least it’s not an eyesore if it is left out!). Anyway, I am impressed with its power considering the size of the blades. The convenience of using a single serving blender is the ability to grab the beverage and go. Rather than a standard blender lid, this machine comes with a travel lid and fits in most car drink holders.
